Than again, Jake didn't really care what others thought of him. If he wanted to enjoy his new Dino posture, he was gonna do it regardless of what people thought. "Screw it! If people freak out, I just tell them to deal with it. Nobody would mess with a T-rex in real life anyway." Jake said with confidence. With that he put his laptop in his bag and approached the front door. Even with a slight hesitation, he sighed to calm his nerves, and opened the door.
To Jake's surprise, there wasn't one soul in the halls. However, with his new rex snout, he could smell many people from inside the other rooms. "Huh. Thought this only changed my appearance, not my senses." Jake was a bit bothered by the overwhelming scents in his nostrils, but he wasn't gonna complain. He slowly crept out the hallway to confirm there was no one around. Jake closed the door to a sharp pain in his spine causing him to nearly roar, but just snarled lightly. "Ow! What was-" Jake realized he shut the door on his tail. "Oh, should watch for that..." Jake laughed lightly. "What's so funny Jake?" Jake panicked at the voice behind him. He turned to see Mila talking to him.
"I don't think you should laugh about hurting yourself like that. I hear your tail is sensitive." Jake was shocked to hear Mila talk so casually about his tail. The Chronivac really did change reality itself. Jake was so starstruck, he forgot he was talking to Mila. "Jake? You still with me?" Jake shook himself off and finally replied. "Y- yeah. Your right. It is pretty sensitive. But you know me. Laughing at myself all the time when I get hurt." Jake laughed rubbing the back of his head. Mila giggles in response. "You know, it's kinda cute when you smile through those big sharp teeth." Mila said laughing. Jake would have been visibly blushing if it weren't for his scales. "Alright, I'm off to my room. Be more careful please." She says walking off. Jake took some time to recover himself from the panic attack he had. "Wow, she really thinks this is normal." Jake says walking the opposite direction.
After the conversation with Mila, Jake got a spike of confidence. Everyone knew he was a rex-man and they didn't mind. He'd get the occasional nickname like 'Jaws' or 'fork-tongue', but everyone treated him basically the same. At the time he'd spent walking around, he managed to find Gabe his classmate and close friend. "Jake! What's up Rex-man?" Again, Jake would've been blushing if not for the scales. "Not much. You done with classes?" Jake asked. "Almost. Just got to proofread it first to make sure everything is right. You know how stingy Marman is with the details." Gabe said continuing on his laptop. Jake saw this as an opportunity to change Gabe a bit. "Cool. I'll just hang here till your done." Jake said pulling out his own laptop."
While Gabe was invested in finishing his paper, Jake thought of what he could change about Gabe.
