The Magic Shop

A talk of what's to come

added by O 2 years ago O Magic

Yuriko smiled, watching as her young charge vanished into the portal. As they left she let out a deep sigh. "I thought you might be showing up."

Turning, she now beheld a middle aged woman with white hair and flowing robes. "How have you been Kellie?"

Kellie Pendragon smiled, giving her old friend a hug. "I've been well," she said softly. "Needed to talk." Yuriko nodded, the two old sorceress taking a seat at Yurikos kitchen table. "Coffe," Yuriko asked as she levitated two cups to the table. Kellie nodded, gripping the mug in both hands as she took a sip.

"Thanks," Kellie smiled. "I see your student is finally branching off on his own."

"Well Crystal's heritage surfacing had something to do with that," Yuriko stated. "I wasnt expecting the girl to discover what she is so quickly."

"Catalysts," Kellie chuckled. "They certainly have a way of changing things." The two now began laughing softly, as Kellie gazed out the window. "What's troubling you Kellie?"

"The Normal," Kellie sighed. "Jack finished his interrogation." Kellie shuddered at the thought of what she had seen her ex do. "It wasnt pretty. Jack did break the blood oath, in truely gruesome fashion."

"I'm almost afraid to ask," Yuriko stated.

"But you want to know," Kellie grinned. "That's why I asked you to run the shop Yuki, your curiosity knows no bounds. I'll keep it simple, it's hard to honor a blood vow when you have no blood." Yuriko shuddered, perhaps her curiosity was too much. "So what have you discovered?"

"Information we already knew," Kellie said. "That and the latest leader of the Normal doesnt exactly follow the rules."

Yuriko now listened intently as Kellie described what she had learned. The leader, who was simply known as the Boss, was ruthless, ambitious, and did not care who got in the way of his goals. "Be it magical or non magical," Kellie finished. "And that includes innocent bystanders, like your students parents."

"Darren's parents," Yuriko shuddered, to which Kellie nodded. "Yes," she said. "We havent dealt with someone like this before. Therefore Jack and I will protect the Catalysts families but I'm afraid that's the only help we may offer. Your students are going to have to grow up quick. Whatever they are planning will come to fruition soon."

"I understand," Yuriko said. "And thank you. I have faith Darren and his friends will succeed but protecting all of their families will lessen the load for them."

"You have that much faith in the kid," Kellie asked.

"He is smarter than he realizes,: Yuriko stated. "And far stronger too. Plus those he has chosen as allies that are loyal and just as capable as he is."

"I hope you're right Yuki," Kellie said quietly. "We both know Catalysts attract the darker aspects of magic. He will be tested before his vision is complete."
