With the nurse gone, Chase says, “I’m so going to get Jonathan for this.” more to himself than you. With that, he storms out. Now terrified at what you’ve just done, you scurry out and follow him like a scared puppy.
Back outside in the park, you’re now aware of how many other guys have signs of the a clinic visit. Identification wristbands, medical gowns, bottles of pills, a few casts, and assorted medical equipment adorn many of them. You can’t help but wonder if all that stuff is related to Chase’s legs.
Chase seems oblivious to the other patients, all the attractions, and the general bustle of the park. Instead he marched directly...somewhere. You’re just along for the ride.
He seems to find the person he wanted when he calls out, “Jonathan, you ass. Look what your dare did to me.”
A buff guy about his age with dark hair in a short, jock cut finished getting his hot dog and turns to Chase. He bursts out laughing and when he composes himself, says, “Dude, what did you do? Replace your legs while you were in there?”
“This is how they came out of the casts and why my feet looked so misshapen this morning.” Chase growls, “Now it’s your turn.”
“No way, bro. I’m not risking becoming a freak like you.” Jonathan says and takes a bite from his hot dog.
His objection gets ignored as Chase grabs him by the arm and drags him back to medical clinic. Meanwhile, Jonathan is still eating his hot dog with his other hand. You follow behind them. Though you don’t want to go back there, you don’t want to leave Chase.
You three are quickly taken back and a different nurse comes to work on Jonathan. Chase orders a full lower-body cast for Jonathan. Which they do despite his protests.
When they’re done, Jonathan is left with his hips and knees bent into a sitting position and left in a wheelchair. “Get back here and get this off me!” he shouts as the nurse leaves.
The nurse responds, “Sorry sir, legally we can’t remove casts for twenty-four hours without a medical reason. Come back tomorrow, I promise it won’t hurt you.” and then is gone.
