As the glow faded, Sarah felt largely the same. Though as she went to pull her phone out of her pocket, she noticed that her clothing had changed. The new outfit was unremarkable save for the jacket which was identical to her favorite jacket she had lost a few months earlier. This didn't seem like it had much to do with unlimited cash.
Finally retrieving her phone, Sarah logged in to her bank account. Very oddly her account was only slightly higher than previously. That slight increase was due to a series of monthly deposits of $100 from something called the Young Scholars Coalition.
Not finding anymore information there, Sarah checks her email. She is momentarily distracted when she sees the first email is a reminder to sign up for next semester's classes. Momentarily distracted she clicks on the link to the Student Portal and soon determines that as far as the school was concerned she had just completed her junior year.
Before investigating that further, she checked for any emails from this New Scholars Coalition and found that apparently she had won some sort of academic competition a few months earlier with the prize being "A lifetime unlimited number of $100 monthly installments".
Sarah was annoyed to see what qualified as unlimited money, but accepted it was mostly her fault for making such a vague wish. Moving back to her unexpected repeat of senior year, Sarah checked both her School ID and Driver's License. The former did mark her as a current Junior and indicated that her enrollment date was one year later than it should have been and the latter showed the same issue with her birthdate, which indicated she was currently 21.
It wasn't hard for her to piece together this was the cost of wishing. All in all a second senior year was hardly the end of the world, but would anymore wishes be worth the price?
