“Well, what's wrong with us? What do you suggest, uh, Doctor…” Mr. Gaffer hesitated, not knowing the hippo’s name. The entire examination had been so ridiculous he was already trying to figure out some way to escape the situation and return with the class to the real world where he could locate the nearest human doctor.
“Doctor Small,” the very large labcoat wearing hippo replied, doing another pirouette and booping Mr. Gaffer on his black ball-like nose with an extended finger. It gave out a most satisfying honk which caused the four teens to grin despite the apparently dire situation. "And, we need to get all five of you to Acme General Hospital stat! Pronto!! Immediately!!! A-S-A-P!!!! It seems like you five toons have caught a case of the human pox.” In a flash the giraffe driver and zebra nurse unloaded five gurneys from inside the ambulance and before any protest could be lodged the four students and their teacher were each strapped down onto their own stretcher and loaded into the back of the ambulance.
“Wait, there must be some mistak-,” Mr. Gaffer tried to say but was cut off by the ambulance doors slamming.
Larry the Mouse and Mac the Lion could only look at one another and shrug as the toon ambulance took off like a race car out of the lobby leaving flaming tire tracks behind it. After all, Larry had tried to warn them but humans always thought they knew everything.
