Hailey was sorted onto a bus with the rest of the students bound for middle school. During the ride, Professor Lopez introduced himself as the head of the middle school segment of the program and explained that they'll be required to submit their reports with an attached copy of each of their report cards. His grading were based on standards set for the abilities of middle schoolers which meant he required 5 paragraph papers. A lot of the students seemed offended by the man's methodical tone, it seemed to them as if he thought he was addressing a group of distracted middle schoolers.
Hailey wasn't overly concerned with the professor's tone and instead found herself excited for this opportunity. It definitely wasn't what she was expecting, but it seemed like the experience was going to be beneficial. Going back to middle school was a bit daunting, but at least she hadn't picked on of the early education specializations.
Once they arrived at the Immersion Center, Hailey was directed by the staff into a booth. Once she stepped in, a door slid up sealing her inside. Outside she saw a man typing into a panel on the side of the booth. When he was done, he flipped a switch and the booth lit up and Hailey felt energy surge through her body.
It wasn't just her body that began changing in response, her clothes also seemed to be shifting. After a few moments everything came to an abrupt stop and Hailey had a chance to examine herself. She was obviously much less physically developed, but she was in much better physical shape than she'd expected.
As for her clothes, most obviously her shirt was a jersey for the star player of the local professional basketball team, who she was certain she never would have known the identity of much less the volume of trivia that was flooding her mind. The rest of her outfit similarly was clearly meant for a sporty kid.
Hailey's attention returned to her surroundings when the door to the booth dropped down in front of her, she looked up to see Professor Lopez. Hailey regarded the man with very little interest
Lopez looked over a form and then said, "Ok Hailey it looks like you are now 11. You've been enrolled in Alexandria Private School in the 6th grade. As you may have guessed, you've also been signed up for a few sports teams. You'll find a full explanation of your classes and roles on the teams in the backpack waiting for you on the bus. Ok?"
Hailey shrugged, "Sure."
Lopez directed Hailey back to the bus. Hailey lazily headed off in that direction. This whole day had been so boring, she was just hoping to get home soon. Though now she realized, she wasn't sure if that meant her actual home or a new one.
