Slowly the screams died down as the four mermaids and two mermen lied either on the chairs, couch and floor trying to see what happened to them and their friends.
“What the fuck is going on?” inquired Barbara as she pulled herself across the floor to rest her back against the wall.
“I have no fucking idea.” added Elizabeth, she never cursed and that somehow hit Lindsay more then her sister cursing.
“How did this happen?” inquired Stacy
“How is this even possible?” added James
“I don’t know.” Said Lindsay “It happened right after the stupid crystal I got in geology class broke.”
“How could a rock cause this?” inquired Elizabeth
“I don’t know.” Cried Lindsay as everyone looked at her.
“Well, where did you get it?” inquired James “Let’s start there.”
“The professor had a box full of minerals and we just picked one at random.” explained Oscar who shared the same class with Lindsay.
“That still doesn’t explain how we all became merpeople.” Added Stacy
“And what happens when we dry out?” added Barbara as everyone looked at her, “Last I checked merpeople are water creatures and we are out of water.”
“And fish out of water die.” Added Stacy as everyone noticed that their breathing was harder then it should have been, they could still breath but it was harder and they were all hot.
“God…we are going to die as mermaids?” stated Elizabeth “Someone call 9/11.”
“My phone is upstairs.” Answered Stacy as Barbara looked up as well, saying without words that her phone was also upstairs.
“I broke my phone yesterday…” stated James as Oscar looked down.
“Mine was in my jeans.” added Oscar “And that somehow disappeared when this happened.
Lindsay looked down at her red and black tail, it was heavier than her normal legs that was sure and her cell phone had been in her pocket which had disappeared when her tail formed. As she looked at her ever drying tail, it split before her eyes as the red tail fins shrunk and turned back into her shoes.
“I am changing back!” yelled Lindsay as her scales turned back to flesh, her cloths magically came back.
Around her everyone started to change back and after a few minutes everyone was back to normal and looking at each other.
“Ok…did we just get really high for a moment?” inquired Stacy
“I don’t think so.” said Barbara as she looked down at herself. “Because my bust wasn’t this big.”
Barbara had large breasts but now they where close to bursting her top, the top which just before was fitting normally. She undid the next button and like a damn being broken her shirt opened and breasts came close to spilling out, her bra was just holding it back, but it was clear her breasts had grown.
Once again Lindsay looked around, Barbara’s hair now had some purple mixed in and was darker just like her mermaid form. Elizabeth’s light blonde hair had lightened as well, it was not snow white like her mermaid self was, but it was clearly lighter. James had lifted his shirt up and it was clear that he had kept the muscles from his merman self. Oscar’s eyes had changed as well, they seamed to glow like they did when he was a merman. As for herself she looked down and saw her modest bust had also grown, it was not as large as her sister, but it was clearly larger.
“So we didn’t change back fully.” announced Lindsay
“Guys!” said James as all eyes turned to him, he had pulled down part of his pants to show some skin by his groan area. There was a patch of gold and white scales which had once covered his whole body.
That started a race as everyone looked to find scales on their body. In time she found her scales, on the back of her calf muscle.
“Guys…it’s spreading.” added Oscar with fear in his voice, Lindsay twisted herself and saw that in the minute or so since she last checked more scales had formed on the back of her legs.
“It’s a countdown timer….in time we will be merfolk.” Stated Stacy
“So what now?” inquired Elizabeth “Do we call 911?”
“And what will some doctor do? Put us in secret lab and experiment on us?” inquired Barbara
“Or maybe they can help us?” countered James
“We could try to find out where the professor got that rock? Maybe there is a way we can figure out what happened to us?” inquired Oscar
“And what happens if we end up as merpeople while we are trying to cure ourselves? If we go full fish will we not die if we aren’t in the water?” inquired Stacy “Maybe our best bet to make sure we can live at the rate this seems to be going we should be able to get to the ocean before we are all fish people.”
“And leave everything behind?” inquired Elizabeth
“It is better than death.” countered Stacy
“So what do we do?” inquired Lindsay
