While Maureen and Ted/Belinda cleaned up the kitchen, Amy and Eric went to the study and where Eric began to clear the bed she wouldbe sleeping in tonight of accumulated junk. Amy took the opportunity to try and coax Eric into wearing make-up however Eric wasn't the least bit tempted.
"No way! I got suckered into it last night but I see no reason why I should wear make-up now"
"But don't you want to look pretty? If I remember correctly you were the person last night who wished to be pretty. Now you have another chance"
"Big mistake on my behalf. I've had enough of looking pretty to last a lifetime. That game sucks!"
"Well I like looking pretty and that game gives me a chance. I not a natural beauty and am always fighting a voice in my head that tells me that ugly girls like me don't deserve good things to happen to them but last night I felt like a princess. I can't wait to play it again. Where did you get it from anyway? I've never heard of it and I'd think with what it does it would be big news"
"I've no idea. It was in my games cupboard. I don't remember buying it and I don't recall recieving it as a present. Maybe it magically appeared? I wouldn't put anything past that game. It seems to know what I am thinking. I mean when I tried to stop Mum and Dad from playing the game it somehow tricked me into joining in. Once I'm back to normal I'm going to lock the game away and never play it again"
"No way! I won't let you! That is the greatest game ever! And I know Jen and Nikky think so too"
"Easy for you to say. It didn't change you into the opposite sex"
"What's the big deal? It's only for the one day. I'd jump at the chance"
"Well in that case we can play it again, on the proviso that we only wish for male attributes"
"Fair enough. I'll be in that but it won't work today. It will be all girls playing so we are likely to only have female features to choose from. It might have to be next weekend. Maybe we can plan on having a night out as guys next Friday. I'm sure Jen and Nikky would be in that. No doubt we would end up as twins of your old body. That wouldn't be bad at all. I think you're a bit of a spunk"
Eric couldn't help but think this was as good a lead in to asking Amy on a date that was likely to come her way. Nervously she asked "Enough of a spunk that you might consider going on a date with me? Maybe we could go and see a movie?"
Amy looked her in the eye "Hmm. How ironic! You finally ask me out when you look like a teenage girl! I'd been hoping to be asked for weeks! I'm not a leso but yes! I'd love to see a movie with you. Better yet another of my work colleauges, do you remember Gabby? She is in amateur theatre and is doing a performance on Tuesday night. I could get tickets and maybe we could have dinner before the show?"
"Sounds great!" said Eric. She could not hide the excitement in her voice. "Maybe being a girl isn't so bad after all. I've tried multiple times to ask you out before but couldn't find the words or the moment and backed out"
"Being a girl can be great" replied Amy "Especially when you are asked out on a date" she too had a big grin on her face. "You really should make the most of your chance"
Just then the doorbell rang.
Amy glanced at her phone. "One thirty five. If that's Nikky and Jen they are here earlier than I thought. Were you expecting anyone else?"
"No. Could you see who it is? If it's not Nikki and Jen send them away" Eric noticed a young girl in a grey skirt rush down the hall, enter the bedroom and close the door. "I guess Dad doesn't want to be seen either"
Maureen had no qualms about being seen. She had opened the door to the two girls before Amy could get there. It was Nikky and Jen.
"Eric?" Nikky asked questionably.
"No I'm Maureen. Eric's Mum or I guess sister for the moment. I met you last night but we have all changed since then. Come in. There are a couple of girls here too shy to come out while the door is open"
