The card that floating in the air turned golden, and a bright flash of light revealed the resulting bet. Disembodied angelic choirs read the word 'Body' in a discontinuous tone. Beneath the word says "Wildcard! A drastic change that lasts for half of an hour. No further card games can be played during the duration."
Ian gulped. If what he thinks is correct, it means their entire bodies are on the line. He could lose his body, but to whom and to what end? The answer lies at the end of the current round.
The deck of cards floated in the air and shuffled by themselves. A pair flicked from the deck and jumped into the palm of the players. The deck rested on the floor and immediately laid three open cards for them to see. If this was real poker, the players should be allowed to put their own bets, raise, or call them. But the rules of this game are different. It is simpler yet unfair as the bets are not by their choice, but by the choice of the cards. Ian was not even sure if the card they are dealt is fair, to begin with. The stakes are high and their bodies are at the mercy of the deck.
