You decide to poke around a bit before Dr. Hurley comes back, mostly to bide the time. You happen to glance at one of the computers and read some data from the results of some kind of experiment. Perhaps that is what you are going to be involved in shortly. On closer examination you notice some entries dated for today and read three briefly worded successes and two failures. It’s not made entirely clear what the experiments were, but you can only assume they are testing some kind of new drug or something.
You explore the room a bit more and accidentally knock over a stack of papers sitting on the edge of the desk. Picking them up, you are met with the grisly black and white photograph of a dead lizard of some kind with what appears to be burns all over its body. You begin to feel slightly less confident about this venture and are beginning to reconsider when Dr. Hurley comes back.
"Well," she says shortly, "if you’re done nosing about, we’re ready to begin." You hand over your paperwork and Dr. Hurley checks off something on the clipboard she’s carrying. "Right then!" she says cheerfully, "the purpose of our medical testing is to establish individual case studies for a new pharmaceutical product slated for release next year. It’s a radical drug designed to alter one’s body." You raise both eyebrows in alarm.
"Not to worry," Dr. Hurley waves a reassuring hand, "the application is mostly geared towards the possible regeneration of human tissues in individuals who have been born disfigured, but it has intriguing multiple applications we’d like to study before the drug is released. I assure you, you are in no danger." You nod nervously, and ask what it is you’re being paid to help test. Hurley checks her clipboard and offers you some different choices.
