“Ok…what just happened?” inquired Lindsay as everyone looked around, that wave of energy had shot outwards and had stopped forming a shimmering ring around the six of them. It was hovering around waist high and was giving off a strange greenish blue glow.
“I am wondering what that is?” inquired Stacy as the blueish green energy began to spin around at a high rate of speed and actually began to rip apart the handful furniture which the energy had passed through. When it sent a chair flying into the air, smashing it against the ceiling that caused all six of them to jump back toward the center as the spinning ring split apart into two rings, three rings and so on.
Each one moving a foot or two higher or lower. It cut through the floor like buzz saw and sent the ceiling fan flying as it formed a bubble around them, but it didn’t touch the floor.
“What the fuck is happening?” inquired Barbara but before anyone could answer her, the bubble of spinning energy shot upwards carrying them like a rocket. It smashed through the ceiling and the second floor of the house and kept going. The floor and the handful of items which had been trapped with them in the bubble fell through but they themselves remained floating in the center.
Maybe floating wasn’t the best word, they were floating in the center yes, but they were spinning like they where on the wildest of fair rides.
“I feel like I am going to be sick!” announced Stacy as placed her hands on her mouth trying to hold down her breakfast. Lindsay had always loved spinning rides whenever she went to a fair or an amusement park but this was almost too much for her and everyone seamed well past their own limits.
Unseen by those within, the ball of energy shot outwards and turned and headed west, it passed over the massive Pacific ocean at speeds unreachable by anything made by man. It flew over the multiplied of islands and over the coast of mainland Asia. Passing over them until finally another large body of water came into view, with crystal clear water, the Mediterranean Ocean and more so the Aegean Sea between Greece and Turkey. The ball began to slow down and descend before it hit a barrier seen by no human eye. It took a second but it passed through that barrier and once through an island that while not huge at four good mountains on it and large amounts of forests and grasslands with cliffs plunging down into the sea on some of it’s coast line.
The ball was now moving much slower as it moved over some fields and a few clusters of farming homes, until it came to the small city. Located on the southern edge of the island. By now the energy was slowing down but the noise it was making was more then enough for everyone who was in the village to look up. They watched as the energy ball came in for a landing and they knew what it meant more so than the people within.
They landed with a thud, most of her friends were sent flying down into the cobblestone street and all of them threw up. Only Lindsay somehow managed to keep from throwing up but it was hard. She had one hand on her knew while the other was pressed to her mouth.
“Thank God it is over.” Said Lindsay before she wished she had not.
She began to look around and could not believe what she was seeing. They looked to be in the center of a small town, a town which was really channeling ancient Greece or Rome, it had white marble buildings with columns in front of them. A nearby fountain with nude goddess on it and carts of people selling items. But they were not people.
Her eyes widened as she looked around, she saw a few centaurs…. actual centaurs looking at her, a family by her guess a mother, a father and a little kid. Nearby a large man had stopped hitting on a piece of metal with a hammer, he had to be the biggest body builder she had ever seen, then she noticed the large single eyes, a Cyclops. Her head turned a bit to see a man and a women standing there dressed in robes, they looked almost human aside from the fact that both of them had living snakes for hair, medusas…what did you call a male Medusa? She didn’t know. She saw others, women and men with bird like wings and other bird parts, harpies. A large minotaur was moving toward them slowly.
“Hello…do you understand me?” inquired the Minotaur
“Yes…what is…” started Lindsay as she looked at her friends, they were getting up and looking around as well not believing what they were seeing.
“Sorry, but we don’t have time to answer all your questions you are about to go through the process.” Said the Minotaur “See you broke a shard, a magical shard containing the energy of a creature you consider nothing more then a myth. That energy brought you here to our island and it will now begin to change you, all of you.”
“Change us?” inquired Barbara
“Yes, almost all of us were once human or descendant from humans who like you broke a shard. You are going to become a mythical creature like one of us.” Said the Minotaur “We don’t know what type you are going to become, we can’t be sure it is all the same type given how we don’t know much about the shards but given that you where brought here it is safe to say you will become a creature from Greek or roman mythology.”
“My God.” Said Oscar before he grabbed his stomach. “I don’t feel good.”
“The process has begun, just relax you will all be ok.” Reassured the Minotaur.
