"Yeah, what kinda app?" Mandy asked as she took the phone from Jason's hand. In the process she generated a new sentence, and the app instructed her to change a word.
"Jason is enjoying time with his new acquaintance Mandy."
"W-wait a second!" Jason called out, extremely flustered still but scared enough with what might happen to protest.
"So, his name's Jason." She thought. Mandy thought it was cute that he must've had some kind of journal or something. Though, she figured that she could make a quick change. As a way to flirt with the cutie, she'd change "acquaintance" to read "boyfriend" which she hoped would get the message across to her desires quite well.
"One sec hon." She giggled as she quickly changed the word.
She glanced back up and was surprised to see how Jason was standing. Previously, he had appeared a bit slouched and unsure of himself, but now he was standing tall and even making eye contact. His clothing was also a bit nicer, having been clearly ironed, and to top it off his face seemingly had less acne on it.
"Seriously, babe, can I please have that back?" He asked in a less flustered tone of voice.
"Babe?" She asked, not disagreeing with the word but just shocked at his use. "How long have we been dating exactly?" She joked, giving him a stern look.
"Shit." Jason thought. "This is definitely a test. Just like her. How long has it been again?" He wondered.
"Uh, just about a month." He replied flatly with an attempted aura of certainty.
Mandy kept her cool, but was internally shocked. Jason had changed somewhat before her eyes... could it be her change in the app actually changed reality too?
"So, you're telling me if I check my phone I'll find about a month of photos of us together?" She asked.
"Y-yup." Jason replied, now worried that he had screwed it up.
Mandy couldn't believe it. She didn't even have to check her camera roll to find out if he was telling the truth. Right there as here lock screen wallpaper was a photo of Jason and her together. Both were dressed in overalls, and were standing in front of her father's barn. They were a little dirty, but both happy, and laughing whilst holding one another. Mandy's eyes shot wide.
"It really DID change the world..." She gasped.
"Congrats Jason, ya did good." She chuckled.
"Phew, good." He chuckled. "Now, may I please have my phone back?"
"I reckon I will, soon as you tell me what this here app is all about, and how it can change things." She responded, now a bit more serious.
Jason's jaw dropped. "You know?! How'd you figure it out?" He asked.
"Please Jason honey, I'm no fool." She responded. "Plus, I changed a little thing here."
"What did you change?" Jason asked, almost too scared to actually know.
"Nothin important hon." Mandy lied, loving this new relationship she found herself in. "Don't dodge my question! How'd you done get your hands on this here app?"
"I'm not even sure." Jason sighed. "When I got the mall today to surprise you here, I saw an odd app advertised by some magic shop, downloaded it and presto things started to change!" He explained.
"Hows it work?" She asked.
"I don't know magic? All I do know for sure is that you can only change one word at a time, but whatever you change reality will alter so that the world has always been that way. Nobody else noticed but me... at least till now that is." He replied.
"Hmm, so whoever holds the phone, knows what's up?" She figured.
"I guess..." Jason sighed.
"Hold it, what changes did you make?" Mandy asked.
"Uh, just changed a store over there... you know the lamaze place? Used to be a karate studio." He weakly smirked.
"Jason... did you change a bunch of innocent people into pregnant ladies!?" She asked with her hands on her hips.
"Y-yeah." He said back quickly.
"Hmm, kinda hot." Mandy chuckled. "But, we still needa change them back at some point." She scolded.
"Okay, you're right." He replied. Inside, he was freaking out. He had changed this store from a typical shoe store into a farm centric one. How would he explain to Mandy that she used to be a more typical teenaged girl and not some farm hick? W-wait... didn't he change more stuff? He wondered for a bit, but suddenly all the transformations were messing with his head.
"Damn, must just have been the aware person switching which caused some confusion." He thought. "Soon as I get it back I'll try to fix her, better play it cool for now."
"S-so, whatcha wanna do?" Jason asked.
Mandy thought for a moment. She wanted to make sure everyone eventually returned to normal, maybe even Jason, but she was getting wet just thinking about the power she still held in her hands. The idea of people changing was also a mixture of fun and hot. She looked over at Jason, pressed up her afro a bit under her hat and gave a warm but seductive smile.
"How about we have some fun first." She said.
"Okay, sounds great!" Jason laughed, reaching for the phone.
"Oh no J, I gotta few turns! Only fair." She giggled. "Daddy! Ima take my break now!" She yelled to the back.
"Sure thing pumpkin!" Her father called back.
Mandy held Jason's hand and led him out of the shop eagerly.
"So, you changed a whole store huh?" She asked.
"Y-yeah, just the one ha! A-and, basically if you change the store it also changes everyone inside to help match." He explained.
"Hmm, nice. So, where to?" She wondered aloud.
