Tori woke up bleary-eyed. Her head was so fuzzy, her memories of last night were hard to come by. Last thing she remembered, she had stopped by the park to let off steam.
"I didn't think I drank that much, did I?" Tori murmured to herself, but she winced her voice sounded a lot louder than she meant it to. What had happened? Did someone slip something into her drink? No, she was always careful not to leave her drinks unattended. Wasn't there someone talking to her at the park? Then what...
No, there was something she remembered. A dream. A weird dream. She was running through the woods...but not running on two legs. She was much lower to the ground, and faster than she expected. Freedom, fear, hunger, lots of emotions bundled together oozed out from the dream. Then, an appetizing smell somewhere nearby. But suddenly...a pain in her leg...and then...
Tori forced her eyes open. After all, it was just a dream. She was back at home in bed, so she somehow got home intact. Even if she was itchy and uncomfortable from sleeping in her clothes. Well, not all of her clothes...some were apparently scattered across the floor. But enough to make her lower back itchy. It was almost like something fuzzy was brushing against it. Tori reached around and pushed whatever it was away.
And felt it twitch.
No, not just felt it twitch with her hand, but felt the twitch itself, almost like...
Tori shot upright, instantly awake, and lying behind her, across the bed, was...
A tail.
HER tail.
"What the--??!!" Tori screeched, headache forgotten.
