The Magic Shop

A stroke of bad luck

added by UltimaWeaponFFX 3 years ago A Anthro Magic

Ugh... dammit. This was all wrong. This wasn't how it was supposed to go!

The plan - or rather, the idea - was simple. Go inside the store, stay beneath notice of the shop owner, blend in with the other customers. Then, once opportunity arose, nick a few smaller things with some nice, obvious value, hide it inside her rags, and fence it later. In Tia's mind, it was supposed to be a cinch - just a quick job that wouldn't need more than 5 minutes for her to be in and out.

To her absolute dismay and shock, this day had vastly different plans for her. Out of nowhere, numerous guards surrounded the shop, yelling out something about mages and witchcraft and other nonsense. Not that Tia paid close attention to it, since she was busy looking for some other way out! Anything at all! But there were only a few more moments before the contingent of guards raided the shop, swords in hand as they demanded for everyone to get down on the floor and not move a muscle.

What was she to do but to obey? There were simply too many guards for her to slip by unnoticed, and there was absolutely no chance for her to stand up to them in a direct fight! Fear ran through her body as she was getting arrested along with everybody else in the shop. It even made her bite her tongue when one of the stupid armored bucketheads called her a kobold!

She was a dragon, dammit! Not that many could tell from her diminutive, 5-foot frame, but still!

And now, she was an imprisoned dragon. This cell of hers was damp, cold, and barren - save for a few basic necessities like a bed and a bucket in the corner. The only other thing of note was that she wasn't alone. The guards "graced" her with a roommate - none other than the shop owner herself. She cursed her luck for getting stuck in the cell with the one person she wanted to avoid the most. Of course, she also cursed her luck for getting into this mess in the first place!

The shop owner didn't seem like she was paying much attention to her at the moment. Tia wondered if she wanted to keep it that way. On one hand, she could try to strike up a conversation with her... maybe see if she knows a reason why a whole platoon of guards burst into the shop like it was harboring a serial killer or two?

Or... she could stay dedicated to her initial idea and continue being beneath notice. She might eventually find a way to escape this captivity, and it would probably be way easier to slip away if she was the only one actually doing the escaping...
