Amy decided to stay at Lina's for a few hours and do homework, as Lina had suggested. The evening turned less and less into a study session as Lina kept brushing Amy's black mane and suggesting other ways to accent her horse features. After the initial shock of seeing Amy, Lina seemed more and more interested by the idea of magical transformations.
"We could get ribbons and tie them into your tail," she chimed while braiding up Amy's hair so that each plait ran smoothly down her long neck.
Amy, too, was more interested in her own body than the math equations in front of her. She stroked one of her arms as she pondered how she could get x to equal 3/25ths...then wondered if she had even got that number right in the first place. Sighing, she leaned back in the tiny (to her) wooden chair she was sitting in, which creaked dangerously under her weight, and stretched her arms wide, her toned muscles rippling pleasantly beneath her cream fur. "I can't think straight," she admitted. "Maybe I should have changed back. I keep getting feelings from my fur, nose, and ears, and it's all so new I'm not used to any of it."
"Okay, so we'll put away the homework for a little while and have some fun," Lina smiled.
"Maybe we should try a few more questions. Plus, I've got a history quiz tomorrow."
"Well..." said Lina mischievously, "I do have a nice big carrot leftover from lunch today," Lina said, unzipping her backpack and pulling out a lunchbox. She reached into it before pulling her hand out, holding up an orange carrot. She brandished it in the horse girl's face Amy felt her tail flicking agitatedly behind her unconsciously. Her brown, mare's eyes followed the carrot back and forth, back and forth, her mouth watering at the sight of it.
Lina held the carrot out closer and Amy leaned her large neck forward and prepared to take a huge bite out of it. Unfortunately, her shifting finally managed to overstress the chair, and it snapped apart, sending Amy thudding into the floor in front of Lina's closet.
Lina dropped the carrot in shock as Amy's fall caused magazines and hardcover texts to drop out of the closet around the mare. When Amy's head and long neck emerged from underneath the cover of "Romeo and Juliet," she was grinning. At Lina's shocked-yet-puzzled expression, one of Amy's hoof-hands raised itself out of the confused mess clutching the carrot.
"Neigh!" Amy said triumphantly.
Lina nearly fell on the ground in laughter as the horse girl picked herself up out of the pile of books.

After they had put Lina's room back together, Amy decided to go home where there was less chance of distraction. She said goodnight to Lina at the front door, but Lina asked her to wait.
"I know I was really nervous before, but...umm...maybe," Lina said, flushing. Amy's horse ears perked up expectantly. "Maybe we could go back to that store tomorrow after school?"
Amy's big-toothed grin and excited eyes told Lina everything. "See you tomorrow!" she replied gleefully before cantering down the dim sidewalk. Lina watched her tail flicking in the air and her hooves effortlessly clopping off the cement, pondering how wonderful it would feel to have a body like that. Or maybe she could try something completely different? The sky seemed to be the limit at that place.
