“Are the next ones going to be like that..?” Clyde asked apprehensively,
“Only one way to find out,” Alaska replied, smirking at herself, eagerly waiting for Clyde. He sighed. He grabbed the bag from his pocket, selecting the next candy. He placed the bag back in his pocket.
Without taking a breath, he placed the candy in his mouth and began chewing,
“What does it taste like?” Alaska asked,
“It’s like... melon?” Clyde said, a little puzzled. He wasn’t a big fan of melon, but something was making this candy strangely tasty to him.
“Interesting. It’s funny,” Alaska started, Clyde continued to chew on the candy, “this is one of the only candies I created that doesn’t take time to activate,” she continued. Clyde was even more confused, but kept chewing, “it’s completely up to the user when it’s activate. And it’s a sudden activation, too!”
“Huh?” Clyde said, “so how would I-” he swallowed the candy, “how would I activate it?”
Alaska simply smiled back. Clyde was once again confused, but suddenly felt a slight gurgle in his belly.
BOOMF!
Clyde’s entire body immediately inflated into a ball. He couldn’t move his arms, his legs, his whole torso was round. His face was almost sculpted into the mass of his body,
“What happened to me!?” He shouted,
“You got inflated.” Alaska replied, “inflation candies aren’t uncommon. Actually, they’re some of our best sellers. Especially the blueberry ones, people seem to like those a lot. But this one is particular is pretty dangerous,”
“W-why..?” Clyde asked, a little nervously,
“Let me show you!” Alaska said, walking over to Clyde, “watch this!” She said, grabbing Clyde’s hand. With ease, she lifted him off the ground, sending a rush through his body. She managed to throw his up into the air. He flew so high that he almost touched the giant ceiling of the room, but just before he did, he felt himself falling back down. He was angled so that now he saw Alaska below him. He was expecting her to catch him in some ways, but she didn’t. Instead, she moved out of the way of Clyde. He hit the ground. He wasn’t expecting to plummet to his death, but he was still pretty terrified. When he hit the ground, he compressed, letting out a deep breaths, then suddenly bounced back into the air. He kept bouncing like a ball, non-stop for at least 2 minutes before he inevitably slowed down and came to a stop. Alaska rolled him to face her,
“What’ya think of that!?” She asked excitedly,
“I-it... it was so cool!” He said, still pretty dizzy, “but can... can I...” he wasn’t able to get the words right. Luckily, Alaska knew what he wanted, she placed another white candy in his mouth and watched as in a matter of seconds, he began to slowly deflate. He was back to normal,
“That was crazy!” He said, he looked down, “how come my clothes didn’t tear?” He asked,
“Oh!” Alaska said, “it’s made of a very flexible (and magical) material, meaning it won’t break under most circumstances. That is, unless it was meant to be broken,”
“What do you mean ‘meant’ to be broken?” Clyde asked,
“All my candies are smart, that’s why they won’t allow anybody to be hurt with them. They can sense the situation and never put anyone in danger. It’s a magical side-effect I have, I can’t hurt anyone so my candies can’t either. So I used this magic to make the clothing unbreakable unless it’s intended,”
“I think I understand,” Clyde said, reaching into his pocket once more,
“The final one,” Alaska said, seemingly to herself,
“What exactly is this one?” Clyde asked. Without hesitating, he replied to himself, “only one way to find out,” Alaska smiled at him.
