The energy wave shot out of the destroyed shard and filled the room before disappearing leaving all six of them standing in the room.
“Ok what the fuck was that?” inquired Barbara as everyone just looked around. Slowly Lindsay picked up the remains of the stupid crystal shard she was suppose to identify for her geology class. As se picked it up the remains turned to dust and then disappeared in her hand.
“Strange.” Said Oscar
“Very strange, but we have class to get to.” Announced Elizabeth as she stood up and carried her plate toward the kitchen.
“Same here.” Confirmed Barbara as she took hers and her girlfriend, Stacy’s plate to the kitchen as well.
“Must have been made of some really fine dust and when you dropped it, that dust spread out.” Said Oscar sounding unsure even to himself. “Talk to the Professor, see if you can get a new rock to identify.”
“Thanks.” Said Lindsay as she shook her head a bit, this didn’t sit right with her.
Little did they know their bodies had already changed, instead the shard was what the ancient wizards called lycanthropy magic, however unlike in popular stories lycanthropy magic wasn’t limited to turning people into werewolves during the full moon but it covered a large range of anthropometric humans which could infected other humans with that magic, this made them the most dangerous magical creatures the ancient humans had to deal with. While wolves where the most common, werecats, werefoxes, weredragons and others were around.
That magic had already entered each of their bodies leaving an almost invisible mark in the skin, a mark which was only visible under certain types of magic light or moon light right before the transformation starts. In the modern world it would appear under black light and looks like a tattoo with the symbol of the lycanthropy beast they would become. The symbols glowed on the back of their necks for a moment before fading waiting for the 1st full moon when the transformation would begin.
That full moon was tonight
