Though a long respite from the unusually creepy forest seems quite inviting, you decide that no good will come from simply dallying and listening to the wind chimes. So after taking one last look around, you hop over the stream and continue down the path.
The idea that nobody would come deep into the forest just to set up wind chimes gives you some measure of hope, but that hope is quickly squashed as the path begins to narrow and become overgrown. The path becomes even less inviting as you go on, as the overgrowth becomes thornier and begins to tug at your clothes. After enduring multiple scrapes and having your shirt develop a minor tear, you begin to wonder if leaving the path might be the best option.
Looking around you, most directions lead off into more uninviting foliage, but off to your left there is a hill which is fairly clear, and it looks as if you might be able to get a better view from the top of it. Of course, persistence is a virtue and the path may clear just a little farther on...
