"I've got to get back inside the house," he realized, fearful that a bird might choose him over a seed.
Colin bolted towards his huge door.
he saw the door was shut, and the handle was much too high to reach.
and the the gap under the door was too small for him to squeeze under.
“Crap.” Colin felt like kicking himself.
in defeat, Colin sat down on the deck, pulling one knee close to his chest.
And, trying to be brave like a kid after falling down, he fought back the tears in his eyes.
Colin thought hard.
“Come on, Colin.” He said to himself. “Mom always said that there’s always a way outta a problem, no matter how big it is.”
He thought if someone was to come into the yard, he could get their attention.
Or maybe, he could wish himself to grow.
Or he could find another way in, like climbing up to the kitchen window.
Colin was wondering what he should do.
