CYOTF (Human)

Into the realm of the bug

added by Anonymous 5 years ago S

The 40-year-old businessman sat in his deck chair and simply watched as his body grew smaller. His clothes slid, bunched in odd places, and basically looked like they were slowly consuming the man wearing them as his body grew smaller. And smaller. Then, smaller still.

His head was pulled down inside the collar of his white, short-sleeved shirt. "This is amazing," he said aloud, not quite sure if he was having a bizarre dream or not. He chose to believe it was not a dream because the sensations he felt were quite intense. He felt like he had been caught in a whirlpool that was pulling him down, down, down into something much different.

His head disappeared into his collar and his the shirt collapsed, but the shrinking Colin tumbled into his jeans, ending in the left leg as he tumbled down the denim tunnel. Even while falling through the leg of his own jeans, the shrinking continued at a now furious pace, but in the darkness he could no longer watch as the world seemed to expand around him.

His fall ended with a soft thud on a gray surface. He had shrunk so small he had ended up in one of his socks, which was still halfway inside his shoe. The cavernous sock and shoe combined in a terribly rank smell. His first surprised reaction was to wonder if his feet really smelled that bad.

His second reaction was to realize he had gotten so small he was now inside his own sock and shoe. He began to climb. "I've got to get out of here!"

Moments later, the formerly tall man emerged from the sock and was able to drop onto the wooden surface of his deck. He still looked thin and fit, but he was now a fit, thin man the size of an ant.

"Not this small!" Colin exclaimed. "I've got to make it stop! I wish the shrinking would stop!"

Just like that, the tingling sensations stopped. His shrinking had stopped, leaving him under half an inch tall. The size of a bug.

Colin gazed at the drastic scale of his deck. He stared up at his deck chair. His emptied clothes spread haphazardly over the chair, which looked bigger than a building.

A shadow flew over him. A Godzilla-sized bird landed at the bird-feeder at the railing of the deck. It grabbed a seed bigger than Colin in an enormous beak.

"I've got to get back inside the house," he realized, fearful that a bird might choose him over a seed.
