Jake and Naomi finished their drinks at the café to which Jake promptly invited her to his dorm room. She smiled through her canine snout with her curly tail wagging. “Sure. Sounds like fun.” Jake was so enthused with the result of the Chronivac. Seeing her canine lips move like a humans was somewhat appealing. “Great. I’m gonna head to the bathroom real quick and then we’ll head out.” Jake said pushing in his chair and bringing his laptop bag. He didn’t really need to go, he just wanted an excuse to look at himself in the mirror. Jake reached the bathroom and noticed two other students coming out of the stalls. One had features like a Boston terrier, and the other had ones of a chihuahua. They both washed their hands and left briefly to leave Jake alone in the bathroom. Looking at himself, Jake’s first impressions of his canine appearance were nothing short of adorable. The way his lips curled up to his black nose, his pointed furry ears stood up, and even pulling the panting dog face with his long flat tongue sticking out. He was enjoying every sight of it. Mostly because it brought him back to memories of Ash, his own Shiba inu. Jake decided to pull a smile to reveal his canine fangs before coming back out to walk with Naomi.
Jake and Naomi walked alongside each other on the way to his dorm. Often Jake would sneak a look at Naomi just to see her adorable pup face, or her fluffy tail. He wanted so desperately to cuddle with her. He imaged the two of them nuzzling their snouts together, licking each other’s faces. Hopefully that didn’t mean the relationship would be going to fast, and that it was just his dog instincts kicking in. “So Naomi, what exactly do you like to do besides drawing and tennis?” Jake asked. “Hm… honestly, not much. I watch movies and play games for inspiration for my artwork. But other than that, not much.” Naomi looked down. “Sorry, I hope you don’t think I’m boring or anything.” Her tail hung down low. Jake laughed. “Of course not. I like movies and games. In a way, you and me are kinda alike. Except I’m more of a baseball guy and I’m into computer stuff.” Jake let a toothy smile out revealing his sharp teeth. Naomi laughed as she licked the top of her nose. “Yeah. I suppose.” The two continued to talk about hobbies, interests, dislikes and what not while passing by other students. Jake still couldn’t believe it. It was like he transported to another dimension of dog people. Everybody had unique dog breeds such as border collies, poodles, huskies, and even breeds he didn’t even recognize. Hopefully it wouldn’t be rude in this new reality to not know every type of breed.
The two finally reached Jake’s dorm room. Upon entering, Jake was shocked to see his roommate Leo sitting on the couch. He’d usually hang outside campus doing all sorts of stuff. Only now he had floppy beagle ears, nose, and a tail. “Oh, Jake. There you are. You don’t usually head out this late.” Leo said surprised. “Yeah… and your not usually here this late.” Jake said in an equal tone. “Yeah, was going to go out with Amy, but one of her friends accidentally slammed her tail in a car door. Could have a broken tail bone so she had to go to the hospital.” Jake and Naomi both held their tails at the thought. “Oh… I’m sorry. I hope she gets better.” Jake said. “Yeah… but hey, don’t let that bring the mood down for you two.” Leo smiled approaching Jake and Naomi. “Whose your friend? She looks cute. And a Shiba just like you too?” Naomi blushed at his complement. “I’m Naomi. Nice to meet you.” Naomi held her hand out for Leo to shake. “Yeah, I figured you’d be out so I invited her over. But I guess-“ Jake was interrupted by Leo. “Actually Jake, I just came back to wait for Carson to meet with me. We’re heading to the lounge to see if we can’t pick up a cute hound for him since I’m out of the game for now.” Jake didn’t like the tone Leo was using with Naomi around. “You’re really not giving me the best impression with you sounding like a hookup dog.” Jake nearly growled. “Hey, take it easy. I’m still with Amy. I’m just trying to help a friend out. Speaking of which.” Leo slid Jake aside and looked at Naomi. “Listen. Take it from me, Jake’s a good guy. Loyal and trustworthy. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.” Someone knocked on the door after Leo finished. “I think that’s Carson. You two have fun, alright.” Leo said walking out the door with a student with Doberman features. Jake was a bit surprised at how Leo stuck up for him. His tail sunk down feeling a bit bad for growling at him. He though maybe he was a bit hard on Leo and that he should apologize when he got back. “He seems nice.” Jake heard Naomi say. “Yeah. He’s always been a good friend.” Jake replied.
“Well, anything in particular you wanna do?” Naomi asked. “Well, I just rented…” Jake looked at the movie cover to see it changed as well. The movie cover had a man in the center with one wing on to the left of his back just like he remembered, but had husky ears, nose, and a tail below the wing. “The Winged Vigilante. It’s about an angel who comes down to earth disguised as a normal man to protect someone who happens to be a heavenly prophet, which they don’t know yet. How’s that sound?” Naomi smiled. “Sounds like an interesting plot.” Jake put the dvd in the player. “I’ve heard good things about it. Lots of well choreographed action scenes and- Ow!” Jake sat down before looking as he sat on his tail. Jake blushed in embarrassment while Naomi giggled. “As, don’t be like that. People sit on their tails all the time.” Jake looked at Naomi’s cute puppy face giggling away. “You are just adorable when you laugh.” Naomi looked back up at Jake and giggled again. “Uh… anyway, we should start the movie.” Jake scrambled to pick up the remote to start the movie. This time, putting his tail beside him and Naomi (in case she wanted to cuddle something soft) the movie started to play.
