The young boy suddenly felt something he had been desperate for ever since he found the coin- clarity. His overwhelming fear at last started to fade, as he realized the gods' transformation would do no harm to him. They had sent the coin to be found by him, to become the new deity of wisdom. The goddess he first saw smiled at him, and said kindly, "Do you understand now, young man?" She giggled almost musically. "Not that that will be an appropriate term for you soon."
The boy looked at his enlarged body, and exhaled with pleasure as he started to metamorphose in a dramatically different manner. One would expect him to be mortified or at least surprised by the changes- his penis started to shrink from a large phallus into a small nub, his testicles moved inside them and completely reshaped themselves into ovaries, on his chest his nipples enlarged and grew sensitive as he sprouted breasts, and across his body his figure and proportions adjusted from boyish to girlish.
But not only did he feel no pain or fear, she felt no dissonance from her change of sex, for she knew its purpose. He had obviously been familiar with being male, so to be castrated, emasculated, and become female was a natural part of her enlightenment. She was rapidly feeling familiarity with her new sex, and realized an active positive of it: manhood could never grant her an understanding of the creation of life. No one with a penis could conceive or mother, only fertilize. The struggles of motherhood, and of women, were far less widely understood by humans than those of men, but she could give them understanding.
Once she felt her changes finish, her mind brimming with intelligence and understanding, the goddess in front of her noted, "I would tell you your name, but I believe it is more appropriate if I allow you to tell us," she said.
The former human, now goddess, nodded in agreement and said, "My name is Athena."
Now she had intelligence and power that outshone most of the other gods and goddesses, Athena wondered what to use it for first...
