Chronivac Version 4.0

A Difficult Decision

A pitch black truck with the Transdem logo printed on the side drives down the streets of the area affected by the energy wave, passing by the transformed victims as they attempted to understand what had happened. Sitting in the driver seat was a technician working for Transdem Labs named Jay. She had three pairs of arms down her torso, the middle pair was being used to drive, the top pair was draped over the back of the seat and the bottom pair was down her pants idly playing with her half erect cock. Sitting in the back of the truck with the various tools was her fellow technician, Kris who looked normal from the waist up, with large breasts and long black hair, but had the body of a large pop-culture style raptor from the waist down, with large powerful hind legs and smaller forearms, but without any of the feathers that newer science had determined many dinosaurs to have. The two technicians had been sent out in response to the massive energy wave, which had been detected by Transdem's sensors. Their job was to discover what had caused the wave, fix or destroy the cause, and then deal with the thousands of victims of the incident to prevent the company from being blamed (rightfully or not) for the mess.

The Transdem truck pulled up to Janet's house just over three hours after the Cronivac malfunctioned, most of the neighbourhood was still outside ,talking with their neighbours and helping the ones who's transformations had left them disabled in some form. Jay stepped from of the truck and opened the back to let Kris out, the rap-taur stretching out her body to its full eight foot height.

“Wow, when I heard about what had happened I imagined it would be pretty bad, but this is crazy.” Kris said as she looked over the dozens of people moving about, their various transformations ensuring no one blended in with the crowd.

“That's why we're here, to figure out what caused this and ensure that these peoples lives can get back to normal as quickly as possible.” Jay responded, pulling her toolbox out of the back and making her way towards the house the wave had originated from. None of the people noticed as the two technicians entered Janet's house due to the special perception cloaking they were given to ensure they could examine the scene undisturbed. Jay and Kris searched the house, following the scent of smoke until they found Jess's room with the broken and smoking Cronivac. After spending thirty minutes taking it apart and examining it they both came to the conclusion that it was completely and utterly destroyed.

“Damn it! If we could fix this we could simply undo the changes and be on our way, but now we're going to have to get a whole team in here to individually change people back to normal, that could take months!” Kris sighed, flopping her tauric body down in defeat.

“And without the hard drive from this machine, we don't have any records about what these people's original forms were, so any reversion we do is going to be full of errors, even if we manage to track down every single victim.” Jay added, all six of her hands clenched in frustration.

“Well... there is an easier way.” Kris said, her voice tinged with uncertainty.

“What would that be?” Jay replied, her frown indicating that she already knew the answer.

“We could just normalize all the changes, alter reality so that they had always been like this and hit everyone in a slightly larger radius with it to make sure we get everyone that was transformed. and then we prevent any potential bad press Transdem would get while also making our job easy as pie.”

“No way!” Jay shouted back “We can't just leave all these people as they are! Especially for a reason as weak as making our jobs easier!”

“It wouldn't just be for us though! Think about it, even in the best case scenario, where we find everyone and get them mostly back to normal before erasing their memories because, let's be real, there is no chance we don't miss any details when changing people back, then hundreds, maybe thousands of people will be left with bodies that are slightly different than they're used to, and even that tiny mismatch could cause major body dysphoria, and I know better than most how hard that can be.”

Jay went silent, thinking on her co-workers argument. It was true that any attempt to return the people to normal would be a long and painful process for both Transdem staff and the victims, but she still couldn't shake the wrongness that Kris's idea left her with, just making it so that as far as the world was concerned they had all been like this, even if it would ensure no inconsistencies between peoples minds and their bodies. The look in Kris's eyes told Jay that the rap-taur would go along with whatever Jay felt was right now that she had made her case.
