Lou decided that his wife would get mad at him if he didn't let Lucy keep the ring, likewise, Lucy herself would throw a fuss about finding the ring and not being able to keep it for herself.
"You can keep the ring Lucy, just don't lose it, because a nice looking ring like that probably costs more money than you realize." Lou said.
Lucy couldn't really fathom how much a little ring like the one she had found could really be so much, but she didn't really let that bother her. Lucy considered at first putting the ring into her pocket so she wouldn't lose it, but decided against it. So Lucy put the ring on her ___ hand. Lou then said that it would probably be best if they headed home now.
"Do we have to go home now daddy? I was having so much fun being outside." Lucy pleaded.
"Well, I'm sorry Lucy sometimes kids have to do things grown ups tell them to do." Lou said to his daughter.
Lucy could hardly believe this. Her father worked all the time, and she barely saw him anymore. Lucy wasn't sure whether to say something to him now or when they got home about him. Her other option was to say something to her mother about her dad, at least she listened to her more than he did.
