Lou was a 36 year-old man who wanted to be anywhere else right now. His 8 year-old daughter, Lucy, had wanted to go outside to play, however Lou had been constantly telling her that he was busy. Even though it was the weekend, it seemed like he was always working every day of the week with little interaction with his daughter. Finally his wife demanded that he take their daughter out to the park.
"Daddy, I'm really thirsty, can I get a drink?" Lucy asked her father.
'Did I do those reports before I came out here? I can't remember.' Lou thought to himself.
"Daddy!" Lucy shouted a little to get her father's attention.
"Huh? Oh sorry, what was that?" Lou asked his daughter not clearly having been paying attention to him.
"I wanted to get some water." Lucy said to her father.
"Right, sure. You can get some from that fountain over there." He pointed out with his index finger.
Lucy went over to the fountain to get a drink of water, as she took in all the cold water, here eyes noticed something gleaming on the ground. Lucy stopped drinking the fountain water and crouched down to see a bronze ring.
"Daddy, look I found a pretty ring!" Lucy said joyously at her excitement of finding jewelry.
Lou looked at the ring to see it looked nice and it did have some value to it. He considered letting his daughter keep the ring or maybe asking her for the ring to do something with it later.
