"Are you quite sure, mistress?" he asked, more politely than he wished to sound. "It sounds undignified. Besides, whatever drug made me want to be naked has worn off, and I'd much rather just put something on, go home, and put all this behind me."
"Ah-ah-ah!" she said, waving her finger at him. "You're mine now, and I don't need a pet with clothes on. A man with such a fine form shouldn't need to worry about looking undignified. Besides, clothes would just get in the way of all the changes I have planned for you. Let's make your dog time last until sundown tomorrow, just for all of this questioning. Now be quiet and stand still."
James bit his lip and stood still while she started chanting in some strange language. He was very anxious to see what, if anything, could happen. He wouldn't have even considered the possibility of being a pet or changing form yesterday, and half of him was still doubtful that she could actually change his form, but this witch kind of seemed like the real deal so far. He was half expecting a glowing ball of light to form and soak into his chest. He still hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary, though, by the time she stopped chanting. She looked between his legs and smiled a creepy smile, which made him feel very uncomfortable. He hoped he wasn't about to become a sex slave. At least everything still seemed normal for now, though: except for a slight tightness in his spine, as though there were a bit more weight on it, he still felt the same. Maybe she would give up, set him free, and let him go for a massage. He decided to be extra nice to her about it in the hope that she might.
"I'm very sorry, mistress," he said sweetly. "That spell looked like such an excellent effort, but sadly, it doesn't seem to have worrrrrrked." James couldn't explain why his throat seemed to linger on that R sound, and he didn't want to think about it.
"Oh, I think it's working quite well," she contested, still smiling. "Look behind you."
James looked back, half expecting to see a large dog standing behind him, ready to switch bodies. But he didn't see anything. He looked forward again to face her, and cocked his head to the side. She rolled her eyes.
"Lower," she clarified. "Down over that nice bottom of yours."
James craned his neck to look down his own back and then gasped. His backbone seemingly continued down into a thick fleshy appendage that reached down past his knees, almost to his ankles! The whole length of it jerked up to stand stiff behind it, and he felt his spine seem to bend in the middle. He experimented a bit with the muscles that made it do that, and he soon found himself looking at a long, hairless dog tail swinging about. Then he felt his ears swelling and was about to try to grab either those or his tail, when all at once his tongue felt funny, and sticking it out revealed a much, much longer and wider organ with an odd crease down the middle: his floppy tongue reminded him exactly of a dog's, and he had to face the fact that he might be stuck with this until tomorrow night, if he didn't make her mad!
"Whararrrryu turrrrrning mre intooooo?" he said, howling and growling, to ask what she was turning him into. A silly question, of course, but he still had a lot of unanswered questions about his change, other than just the fact that he was going to be a dog.
