Mel and Rick followed Henry into the house. 30-year-old Laura, now physically over 60 years old, was on the floor. Fortunately, Lily had found time somewhere in the last 24 hours to become a nurse. She began administering first aid.
“An ambulance is on the way!” yelled a now teenage-looking Olivia, phone in hand.
“Good!” Lily responded. “There’s a lot of first aid companies in the area they should be here fast.
Rick thought that was odd, there weren’t a lot of first aid companies… before the time acceleration began.
He realized this was another way reality was catching up to the accelerated cycle of birth and death.
Renee, physically near 80, simply wept as the medics arrived and took Laura away. Henry and Lily rode with in the ambulance.
After they were gone barely minutes, it seemed to Rick like a switch flipped to everyone else. Renee settled in to watch Television, Melanie hummed happily while cleaning the kitchen.
And Olivia, now nearly 20 physically, came downstairs, glasses and makeup on, wearing heels and a little black dress. She stood 5’5 and barely 100 pounds, much more petite than her mother had been, except she had large, teardrop breasts. Apparently she had inherited Darcy’s bust.
“See you later, Dad. I’m going to try to get pregnant,” she said as she walked toward the door.
“Wait, WHAT?!?” Rick screamed at his day-old daughter. “What are you talking about?!?”
“Oh Daddy,” Olivia said, “I’m not a little girl anymore. If I want to have a family I’ve got to start. Life is short!”
And with that she sashayed out the door.
Rick stood there, confused.
“Don’t fret, brother, Lily will be home to soon to keep you company.”
Rick seemed confused. “Lily home… here? She lives with you.”
Melanie responded: “Um, not since she started dating you this morning? Hasn’t she been such a great help since Darcy passed?”
Rick needed a seat.
