He had filled his bottle with water from the small bowl.
Once his bottle was full of small bowl water, he drunk some of it.
Immediately, he felt a tingle in his toes, and he felt himself shrink a small bit in size.
a very small unnoticeable bit.
"Wow." Richard Reed said. "That water's very fizzy, but at least it's suitable for drinking, and it's sugar free."
Without a second thought, he put his bottle in his jogging backpack, and resumed his jog.
But, as he was jogging, every minute or so, he started to shrink!
Every minute that passed, Richard Reed got smaller, one very small unnoticeable bit at a time.
A few minutes or so later, Richard Reed noticed something very funny - his blue jogging tracksuit seemed to be baggier than normal. and the long sleeves seemed to be a little longer than usual.
"Huh." he said. "My tracksuit's got bigger. I need to have a word with the dry cleaners about my clothing."
He carried on with his jog. But as he did, his tracksuit got more baggier than ever, and his feet began to knock about in his white sneakers. Of course, He had failed to take into account that the effects of the fountain’s water had no effect on clothing.
But Richard Reed kept on jogging, unaware of his shrinkage.
