April liked to shop in the mornings when she could, afternoon and on hot days like it could in summer, the crowds really flowed into the solar powered air conducted mall, she could not explain why she did not like crowds, no one event she could point too triggered her dislike of crowds. Maybe it was crowds of kids she did not like, who could be just too loud for her. After dumping her lunch remains in the right bins, she headed out of the mall. It was only one and her mom did not expected home until four. Three hours to kill. She knows of a all ages dance club only a few blocks away from the mall. She scrolls thru pic other friends of her`s were posting of what they were doing that summer day, one friend was posting pics of her little sister`s birthday party, an old baby sitter of her`s posts a vid of her tot daughter climbing some thing at the park, other friends at a skate park, some in swim suits in a back yard pool, other teens nude in a back yard, some she knows some she did not know. Alice, Bets older sister posing pics of her baby boy Chad. Some friends at an amusement park with their families or groups of friends. She walks down the block, waving at people she knows. She made little kids laugh by making silly faces at them. The dance club was in an old warehouse. The cover charge was cheep. "Hi Ben" she says to the door man, who had graduated from her high school the spring be fore. "Hi April" Ben says not hiding the glace he gives down her shirt as he lets her in.
The music is so loud no one could hear each other. The old office had been made in to a DJ booth, It`s Jeff Danson on the turntables today.
She looks up to see some of the girls on the catwalk were not wearing underwear, she sighed wishing she was so brave. She sees some people she knows but most she does not know. She wonders to the bar showing her light pink band saying she under twenty one. She gets one those strange milkshakes.
