It's been a bad day for Samantha 'Sam' Ramirez. Sure. Sure. It started well. It was going to be, what, four hours of filming? In the afternoon and early evening? They didn't need to get out of the hotel until noon and the eggs were on point. They didn't have any trouble getting to the Manor either, well maintained roads and bank that was eager to hand over the key to the place.
The place itself wasn't a ruin; it didn't look unsafe at all, just old. Not even in ruins, just, again, old and not kept up, so the lack of dust was nice. There was good internet outside, but inside, it was harder and even walkie talkies were nearly impossible to use. Some sort of lead structure?
Still, it wasn't the worst place she's ever worked in and quite frankly, the opening bit was easy, and she was quickly off with Greg to shoot some B roll and some reactions, which was always a good time. He looked like a hardass but he was super chill to work with.
And then they made it to the guest house. That was easy enough. They made it inside the guest house. No problems there; flashlight headlamps helping illuminate the place along with the afternoon sun.
They went upstairs. No issues except for the mannequin with the red bunny suit and ears and pumps. Something about it gave Sam the creeps the first time she saw it but it was just there, in the corner. Standing. Doing nothing, staring at the wall.
Still, nothing too creepy. "Seems like we've got one of the bunny suited mannequins left over from that old college film." narrating as she took film, watching Greg do the same without the narration. He's not front of camera, she was, so neener neener, even if he did make a ton more than her since director.
"Hey, you see this one?" Greg pointing at a smaller mannequin in an adjoining room of the guest house, right in the center of the room, staring at a full length mirror along the wall. The mannequin had purple ears and a matching outfit with a black wig. Greg having seemed to have poked its costume to see what was up with it.
"Don't touch it Greg. It might just be a prop but it's still creepy as fuck." Sam looking about the room. She could swear that Red one was in a different pose before? Focusing her gaze and camera to look at Red she's even more shocked when she finally turns to see an immobile black eared mannequin having taken position behind her sometime since she last looked in that direction. Frantically she turns back to where Red was, only to find her gone, whirling to see the mannequin standing stock still in the doorway for the rooms between where Greg is and where she is. A Greg that is still slowly stroking the purple bunny's outfit, as if entranced.
Eyes wide, Sam makes an executive decision and decides to bolt down the stairs, screaming "GREG! SOMETHING FUCKING CREEPY IS GOING ON! GET THE FUCK OUT!"
Finding the Black Mannequin hasn't barred her way, she races down to the front door of the guest house, frantically turning the bolt only to find it locked?! "THE FUCK?!" Screaming in terror as she tries to muscle her way through the old wooden door. After a good four attempts that end in a somewhat sore shoulder she turns to see fewer options than she expected. There's a stairway going down to a lower level in the guest house. But there's also a hallway deeper into the first floor that's....oh, there's a Blue bunny mannequin there.
Sam takes a few seconds to scream a cry of fear and frustration. How many are there?! Whatever! She darts down below, racing down the stairs only to gasp in shock at the lower level as she sees...
