With your BeastMon flinging himself wildly over the clearing and firing Poison Stings in all directions, your foes had taken flight. Nice, a little moment of breathing time, without anyone threatening you to transform you into a crazy psychic butterfly. Good times.
Josh the Kokuna propelled now at your direction, and you were not sure if it was intentional or not. He screamed as he was at it, so, huh. You braced yourself. Were you still your preteen self, the collision would have sent you flying. But you were now aged up again, and not only curvy, but a little stronger, too. Nonetheless, it hurt. "Uff!"
"Sorry, Trainer", Josh said.
"It´s okay! Keep firing!" You grabbed the cocoon, pointed your Beastie upwards and took aim. "Fire away!"
"Yessir, madam!" Poison Stings flew to the sky, where Bird-Man and Butterfly-Woman hovered. The Forest Queen just raised her hand, psychic energy bubbling, and the Stings stopped in midair. Then, they changed direction.
"Frick. Hardening!" You lifted Josh above your head.
"Yessir, madam!" A little rain of your own poison projectiles came down, pattering on Josh´s hardened cocoon.
"You good, Josh?"
"Not a scratch on me."
A compliment on his Defense. Or maybe his Attack was just weak. You looked up. The Vultarrow readied his own move, as a crossbow with beak-arrow appeared out of his wing. Henchmen with crossbows were bad news, that was common knowledge. Worse, his move would be a Sky-Type, very effective as Annie would say, and - Oh. An idea crossed your mind.
"Hey, Forest Queen!", you shouted. "What´s up now with the power of insects? Do you need your Sky-Type-pal to help you out? What a shame!"
You saw the twitch in the butterfly´s face. You had no time to scan her, so her real species´name was unknown for you. She seemed tempted to just let you be shot, but then she turned to the Vultarrow.
"Stopp it. Let my minions do it", she commanded, letting you hear over the telepathic link. A shame, she wouldn´t attack you herself. Your Pauper Crest would have defended you.
"My servants!", the Forest Queen´s booming voice called out, "Forward! Restrain the girl and everyone who dares to stand in our way!"
At the edge of the clearing, there was a bustle of movement. An army of small child-Beasties, worms and ladybugs and so on, crawled out of the bushes.
They seemed manageable for you. "Okay, Josh? I will give you a boost now!"
"O-okay", he replied with nervousness.
Hopefully the broken BeastCube would still work like intended. You put the shard with the laser-part under your shirt, pressing it against your bosom. As soon as you docked on, the jolt got through you, and you stumbled. Josh fell down next to you.
"Woah! I knew it would happen, but ..." Your body shrank already, curves going flatter and height dwindling down. "Anyway ..." The bugs swarmed at you. "Josh, now please do something with this!"
