Matt observed the time on the phone. He had been looking through the phone for over 20 minutes. If he wanted a shower before dinner he had to leave the rest of the photo’s for later.
And he did want a shower, When he had been looking at his reflection earlier the temptation had been there to strip off naked and gaze at himself or more accurately herself. However, Matt still thought of ‘himself’ not ‘herself’ despite the reality of the body Matt possessed.
Matt got off the bed and explored the other doors.
The first door opened into a small study. In there was an antique roll top desk. The top was locked. The drawers opened but only two of them contained anything. One contained pens and other stationery. The other contained some computer discs and a photo album. Matt opened it. It was more family photo’s but Amelia seemed to be a teenager. There was no sign of a key to the desk top. That would have to wait.
The only other items of furniture in the room were the chair Matt was sitting on and a two seater couch by the curtained window The couch had a collection of stuffed animals on it. It was more of a private study than an office you would entertain clients in.
Matt investigated the last door. He found a light switch. The light came on to reveal a large bathroom, this room alone seemed to be the size of Matt's apartment.
The floor like the other rooms was white and grey marble but the bathroom had no rugs on top. Like downstairs the decoration was slightly over the top. There was a gold chandelier in the ceiling and two large vanity units with gold antique styled taps and large gold framed mirrors. Between the vanity units was a large freestanding tub. The amount of taps suggested the tub was some sort of spa bath.
The tub was in front of a glass door that led out to a small patio. The curtains were open and Matt could see it was starting to get dark outside. Matt walked to the door and turned a key to open it. The patio was small, private and was surrounded by the canopies of trees. There was no other entrance.
Matt returned inside, locked the door and closed the curtains. In an alcove to left of the door back to the bedroom, was a flush toilet and a bidet. To the right of the door was a large shower cubical, big enough for two or more people to shower in. Indeed there were two shower roses in the cubical. A horrible thought struck Matt, was this a bathroom Amelia shared with Pedro? On closer inspection it seemed not. The vanity unit on the left had a collection of feminine products arranged neatly on it. The other vanity looked unused.
There was a gold towel rack near the used vanity. On it were rolled up white towels. It looked like a hotel bathroom. Certainly Matt’s old bathroom was never this neat. He wondered whether keeping everything so tidy was one of Penelope’s tasks or was Amelia a neat freak?
Matt picked up one of the towels and held it against his cheek. Is felt as soft and fluffy as it looked.
He briefly considered having a bath but he had taken so long looking through Amelia’s possessions that he realised he didn’t have time. He swiftly walked back and double checked the bedroom door to the hallway was locked then returned to the bathroom and began to undress.
