"Hey," Sam said, gesturing at the dingy looking bar with the sign reading 'Liz's' across the street. "Anyone know that was here?"
His girlfriend Cynthia rolled her eyes. "That's been here forever, Sam," she said. "It's just an old bar. Guess it does enough business to stay open, but really, who cares?"
"Come on," Sam said, heading across the street. "I thought we'd been everywhere in this town. Maybe they'll have something good to drink. It'll be fun!" Cynthia sighed - her boyfriend had a few drinks in him already, but by this point, so did she - and followed after him. Maybe he was right - it could be fun, or at least new. Their three friends - Mark, Karen, and James - followed behind.
Sam and Cynthia always took the lead; their whole group were college seniors, but the two of them were fashionable, grade-A students, and if they like to party a bit too much on weekends, most people felt they'd earned it. Of their friends, Mark was a good-natured but none too bright football player who was usually content to follow someone else's lead. Karen was a quiet, nerdy girl who preferred to stay home and study, but had let herself get talked into coming tonight just for the novelty. And James was a laid-back, go-with-the-flow type who went wherever life led him.
"Whoa!" Sam said as he stepped inside and looked around at the bar's clientele. "Look at all these hot chicks in here!" Cynthia sighed again and elbowed him in the ribs, not only motivated by irritation at her boyfriend checking out other girls. Yes, most of the patrons were attractive women, but most of them also looked very engrossed in each other. She was pretty sure the place they'd stumbled into was some sort of lesbian hangout.
"I don't know about this..." she started to say, but Sam was already heading towards the bar and gesturing at the pretty bartender. Come on, guys!" he said. "Let's get some drinks!"

Liz sighed as she watched the obviously drunk college student and his friends approach her bar. It was going to be one of *those* nights. Still, she was sure that all of them would find themselves fitting in a lot better by the time the night was done than they had when they arrived...
