Sasha and Duke exited the movie theater talking to each other about how great the movie was. Sasha laughed pointing out some of the story flaws while Duke commented on how unrealistic some of the effects were. Both of them then went from laughing aloud to an awkward silence.
'God, now what do I do? I bet Gloria has handled dates better than this. Come on Sasha strike up a conversation maybe? Sasha thought to herself.
"So....do you miss your mom often?" Sasha asked not being able to think of anything else.
"Well, yeah. But you know, if I think of her too much, I get all emotional about her." Duke answered.
'Damn it! You're blowing this date you moron, try and change the subject!' Sasha thought to herself.
"God, I'm sorry...it's just I've never been the whole date thing." Sasha said rubbing her arm shyly.
"Oh, was this a date? I thought you just wanted to see a movie." Duke replied.
'Crap, why did I say that?! Just...just...do something!' Sasha thought aloud to herself as she threw her arms up and walked past Duke with a groan.
"Hey, hey, wait, I was just joking. I'm fine with it being a date if you want to call it that." Duke said walking after her.
"No it isn't just that, it's....ugh...I'm never ever been really comfortable with going on dates." Sasha admitted.
"Why?"
Sasha looked up at Duke with his handsome, beautiful eyes, and his innocent demeanor.
"It's my mom." Sasha answered quietly.
"Your mom? What does she have to do with this?"
"Years ago, she left me and my dad and I've rarely ever seen her since. She'll call every once in a blue moon, but I have this....fear that I'll grow up and be like her. Start a life, start a family, then leave them, and be alone." Sasha admitted with a tear coming out of her eye.
Duke tilted her chin gently up to his face.
"From what I've seen you're nothing like your mother and never will be. You invited me, a total stranger into your home, gave me food and shelter, you've shown me a kindness and love that I haven't seen from anyone else in years. Your father cares for you, your father cares for you and.....I care for you. Sasha Sampson, I can't tell you what the future holds, but if I had to guess, you're going to grow up into a very lovely and very loving woman." Duke said as Sasha's eyes almost shimmered in the night.
Sasha wrapped her arms around Duke's shoulder's and kissed him on the lips and it felt like the most magical moment in her life.
'God, this is amazing, I wish everyone felt everyone here felt in love as I do right now. Sasha thought as she made an unintended wish.
A Middle age Black woman and her teenage daughter were arguing about who was going to drive the car when Sasha's wish transformed the teen girl into a woman close to her former mother's age as they got into their car while holding each other's hands with their wedding rings.
A Middle age Caucasian woman was telling her teenage son about being careful about finding the right girl. Suddenly she was turned into a teenager and was now flirting with her boyfriend.
A girl and boy who looked ten years of age were friends along with their four parents, when the six of them were transformed into a teenage date night.
Sasha and Duke broke off from the kiss and stared at each other not saying anything. Sasha then held Duke's hand as they walked back to her house, she was going to have to tell her dad that their foreign exchange student was now her boyfriend.
