"Told you you should have called ahead."
Jason turned towards his wife Lisa, a small frown upon his face. "I didn't know the restaurant would be this packed," he exclaimed. "Who knew it would be an hour to be seated."
Lisa simply smirked, shaking her head. "Its a Saturday night in August," she grinned. "And Covid restrictions have eased. Cmon Jason it doesn't take a brain surgeon to know whats going to happen." Jason simply grumbled as they made their way towards the bar. "Well at least we can get a drink and some appetizers."
As Lisa and Jason now placed an order for drinks, they watched as a couple slightly older than themselves made their way towards the bar. The woman sighed as her husband placed a drink order.
"Stuck waiting too," Nina asked. Lisa nodded turning towards the woman and giving her a curious look. "You look familiar," she said. "Have we met?"
Nina paused, studying the auburn haired woman carefully. "I think so," she said cautiously. Ninas eyes went wide as she now made a connection. "You have a daughter around 2 right?"
Lisa nodded before gasping. "Nina right?" Nina smiled nodding as the two women now talked. "That's right and your name is Lisa," she asked, to which she nodded. "Good to see you again. I take it you found a sitter."
"My oldest daughter Katie was willing to watch Lynne for the evening," Lisa stated. "Unfortunately my husband forgot to make reservations so looks like its going to be a late night."
"Jacob here did the samething," Nina chuckled, gesturing to her husband. "Thankfully our son Connor has a sitter otherwise would of needed our oldest Caleb to cancel his date."
Lisa paused, Caleb? No way it was a coincidence, how many people were named Caleb afterall. "Caleb," she asked. "Caleb Moreland?"
Nina and Jacob gave Lisa a befuddled look, how did they know their son? "Yes," they answered slowly. "How do you know our son?"
"He's taking our daughter Gloria out," Jason responded. "Real nice kid, you two raised him well."
Nina and Jacob blushed, thanking the Turners before glancing around nervously. "Can we talk outside for a moment?"
Lisa and Jason nodded, unsure what the couple wanted to ask. As the quartet made their way to the outside deck, Jacob beckoned them within whispering distance. "Okay this is gonna come as a surprise but I know Gloria's a wizard," he said quietly. Lisa and Jason fisgeted anxiously before critically studying the Morelands.
"Okay who are you," Jason hissed. "How do you know about magic?"
Jacob grinned, apologizing to the Turners for upsetting them. "Sorry folks," he smiled. "I'm actually working with your daughter. Very nice girl by the way. I don't suppose she's said anything about me has she?"
"No," Lisa replied. "So, what are you? Another wizard or something?"
"Demon hunter," Jacob said, Jason and Lisa's eyes going wide in surprise.
"Do I even want to know what Gloria mixed up in," Jason groaned.
"Uh yea," Lisa exclaimed. "But I think I'm going to need a drink first."
"Drinks definitely sound good," Nina interrupted. "And you shouldn't worry too much. My husband and Caleb are quite good at this job. They just needed some help dealing with a vampire problem."
"Vampires," Lisa deadpanned. "Actual vampires?"
Nina and Jacob nodded, causing Lisa and Jason to sigh. "Well," Jason stated. "How about you join us for dinner. I'd like to know what exactly Gloria and her friends are up too."
