You let out a pained grown as you regain consciousness and carefully poll yourself of the ground. Thankfully the ground was mostly sand so the fall wasn't as bad as it could have been. Even though you find it a little strange for sand to be in a cave in the middle of the woods your not complaining. You carefully feel yourself over to make sure that nothings broken head feel fine, arms and legs are okay, dick is still there. Apart from the pain you don't seem to be injured as you stand up and brush yourself off.
Looking around doesn't do much for you as it's just pitch black you can't even see your own hand in front of you. Looking up doesn't do you much good ether seeing nothing from the shaft that sent you down hear. Remembering the glint of light you saw before passing out you carefully look around. You see it a pale white light it's very faint but you see it moving along something big in front of you.
You walk over to it to get a better look making sure to be careful, don't want to fall down another shaft and end up in a worse situation. Thankfully nothing but rocks and sand were between you and the light. As you make your approach the light seems to get brighter as if it's reacting to your presence. Wen you finally reach the object a white light erupts forth making your eyes ache as they adjust to the change in light. You hear a strange whispering in the air as you look up at what you can now see appears to be a missive stone door carved into the cave wall. It's round in shape and has glowing runes in a strange likely forgotten language around the edge with a large glowing symbol in the center.
You have no way of reading the writing on the door but the whispering you hear gives you a strange almost mournful feeling. Taking advantage of the light from the door you look around to see the rest of the cavern. Much to your dismay there are no tunnels leading out and it doesn't look like you'll be able to climb back up. Realizing that no one knows that you're hear and there's no telling how long it will take for someone to realize that your missing let alone find you. Left with no other choice you turn back to the door looking for a way of opening it. You don't see any handles or some other way of physically opening it. Noting the door's seemingly magical nature you think that maybe it would open with a password but you quickly realize that any password would likely be in the same ancient language that is written on the door and probably also the whispering you hear.
Remembering that the door reacted to your presence and having really no other option you just press your hand against the glowing symbol in the center. Suddenly a bright light fills the cavern as the door vibrates and begins to sink into the ground. As the door opens a dry air flows out as well as a black mist darker then any darkness you ever thought possible. "It was that easy huh" you say to yourself trying your best to stay calm despite the pit of darkness that has just opened up in front of you. Again realizing you have no other option you carefully walk through the doorway. Inside you find a missive circular camber with a domed celling and below you see an empty abyss stretching down who knows how far. You stand on what appears to be a large balcony and to your right there is a staircase that seems to run along the wall of this missive well leading down into the depths.
As you walk further in to get a beater look the door suddenly slams shut behind you making your hart sink as you realize that there is no going back now. Thankfully there is light in hear as there are what appears to be torches made from crystals on the walls as well as some lanterns made with the same crystals. Looking down into the deep pit you don't see the bottom but you do see more of the torches along the walls as well as the black mist bellowing up from the darkness below. Having no other choice you decide to grab one of the lanterns and make your way down the stairs hopping to find a way out. Your feel scared as you make your way down you have no idea what to expect but you also feel a little excited. After all you have just stumbled on something that no one knew even existed who knows what you'll find down in the abyss.
