Heading out to the garden, you lift your face to the sun, soaking up the beginning of what looks to be a glorious day. Turning on the hose, you can hear the drip-irrigation system sputter to life, giving your flowers and vegetables their morning drink. After making sure there are no leaks or clogged nozzles, you begin your daily inspection of the plants, knowing that it's a full-time job keeping harmful pests away from your prize-worthy veggies! Hornworms, aphids, cabbage moths and squash beetles... staying ahead of them can prevent an infestation! You look closely at each stem and leaf, snagging caterpillars with your fingers lightning-quick. Before long, your fingertips have turned green, a usual occurrence from handling all the plants and pests.
Should have grabbed your gardening gloves, you think briefly, before turning back to your task. You don't notice as the green hue started to creep up your digits, infusing the palms of your hands and spreading towards your wrists...
