Of course you had heard of Transforma Galaxy online. Everyone had, it was the largest Sci-Fi space sim MMORPG ever created, boasting an entirely explorable galaxy with trillions of stars. The reviews were all incredibly positive, pointing out its immersion as a particular point however despite this finding gameplay was just about impossible. Or even talking to someone who had actually played it. Several of your friends had said they were going to download and play it, then you never saw them again. You figured that the game must just be so good that it entirely consumes them. Not even realizing how right you really were.
Finally you had a month off of classes so decided to treat yourself and download Transforma Galaxy online.
The character creation was amazingly vast and in-depth, for a game that was reportedly mostly ship combat, their were a lot of customization options.
For your class, you went with “Pilot” since you had experience with other space ship MMORPG’s and always gravitated towards the combat.
You your characters gender you went with a human female, after all if you were going to playing this game for the next few days you might as well have something sexy to look at.
For the face you of course decided to make her as beautiful as possible, with emerald eyes, a thin nose, small lips and red hair tied in a ponytail. Her body was lean and fit with modest sized breasts not overly buff or voluptuous, but rather a decent mix in between. As for the outfit you decided on an orange and black skin tight jumpsuit.
When you were finally satisfied your character looked like a ginger Samus Aran, which made sense since that was what you were going for.
The last step to customization was to pick your faction. Which you could apparently change later should you decide to. The options were as follows:
FREE WORLDS FEDERATION— A loose collection of worlds both human and alien valuing diversity and inclusion with no central form of government but rather a collection of several worlds a d sector governments calling on each other for aid.
DARK STAR IMPERIUM— A rigid empire of mostly humans bent on controlling the entire galaxy, they see every planet as just a collection of resources waiting to be harvested to build more massive capital ships.
UNALIGNED/ MERCENARIES/ PIRATES— Not really a group per say, but rather for those players who are interested in playing both sides before deciding, or just don’t care about the war, the higher tear missions for each faction are locked but you can travel basically anywhere you want with the least fear of getting shot at by the opposite faction.
You contemplate you choice for your starting faction. This would determine your starting ship and the first few missions. The Free Worlds Federation had a lot going for it in the variety of available paths for leveling up. Clearly the Dark Star Imperium were meant to be the bad guys, but their armor and ships looked amazing. Finally the Unaligned also had a decent ship or two, and being a sexy space mercenary was appealing.
On you thought not even realizing that the second you chose you would be sucked into the game and become your character…
