Casseus seethed, smashing a desk as he made his way towards the lab. The mission to destroy the Yakuza had been a failure. Fukushu joining forces with Akira was something no one had anticipated. As he flung open the doors he could see both Evan Harris and the Boss waiting for him. "Boss?"
The Boss simply held up his hand, silencing Casseus. "I already know," he stated. "We watched the footage." Casseus was silent, fearing he would now be eliminated for his failure.
"Sorry Casseus but I didn't authorize this raid to be successful."
Casseus eye went wide as he looked between Evan and the Boss. "The Boss is right," Evan shrugged. "We needed you to keep Akira and the others busy."
Evan now beckoned towards a monitor, the dark wizard watched as footage of Raiden and Sachiko flashed across the screen. The two young kits happily mingling with a group of young teens and the Soul Drive.
"We needed you to keep their parents busy," The Boss stated. "Sorry I didn't tell you but we needed some more information on those two kids. On the plus side you did do some damage to the Yakuza. I'm sure they'll think twice before sticking their noses in our business again."
"So all I am is a pawn," Casseus growled.
"I wouldn't say that," The Boss stated. "However, their are times I have to compartmentalize things. This is one of those instances. Evan, will you be so kind as to explain what you learned?"
Casseus glanced at the young wizard, a frown forming on his face as he beheld Evans smug smirk.
"While you were providing a distraction," Evan grinned. "I studied those two kids. Specifically their magic."
"What have you learned boy," Casseus grumbled.
"Those two kits are celestial in nature," Evan stated, ignoring Casseus slight. "This Catalyst was able to create a new set of kitsune gods."
Casseus gawked, his gaze going between the Boss and Evan. He knew a Catalyst could be powerful but to create an actual god?!
"So you see why I needed your distraction," the Boss stated. Casseus nodded. This nugget of information gave insight into just how powerful Darren was. "Here allow me to make it up to you," the Boss said. "Follow me."
Casseus now followed the Boss, Evan remaining behind as the two left the lab. As Casseus now followed the Boss, he was curious as to where he was being taken. "Where are we going?"
"Secret," the Boss said, Casseus could almost sense the smile on his face. "I have a confession Casseus. You know the statement I say at our meetings. The one about wiping out vampires, and werewolves, and Santa? Here's the thing, its only partially true."
"What," Casseua exclaimed. The Boss now held up a hand as the two reached a vault. The area the two now stood was dark, no guards to be seen. The Boss now scanned his retina before typing in a passcode. A rush of air now exited the vault as the two moved inside.
"When we eliminated the vampire and werewolf nations," the Boss said. "The Boss of that time, my father, realized something. Committing genocide on such a grand scale would be a waste of a valuable resource. Dad had a saying. Don't let any advantage go to waste. So, he decided something. We kept one of each."
Casseus now followed the Boss inside. Scsnning the walls, Casseus could see numerous cryogenic tubes lining the wall, he now wondered just how many extinct creatures existed within this vault. The Boss now punched up a menu, perusing it before pinpointing what he was looking for. "You're going to like this."
Casseus trailed behind the Boss as he now paused in front of a cryotube. As the Boss wiped away some condensation, Casseus beheld on young girl with red hair.
"This," the Boss stated. "Is the last vampire. Her name is Ann, she was probably the most vicious vampire to ever exist. She also happened to be the personal bodyguard of the leader of the Vampire Nation. Needless to say she wasn't easy to catch. Afterwards though our tech guys and alchemists had to place some control measures in her head. She's brutally efficient but the control prevents her from harming us."
The Boss now moved to a tube next to the vampire Ann, Casseus could tell just by the Bosses body language he was excited. "This one's my personal favorite," he said happily. The Boss now cleared the glass of the tube, Casseua gasping in shock at the woman inside. "Is that?"
"Yep," the Boss said happily. "Morgan Lefay aka Morgan Carlson. The last werewolf and perhaps one of the most powerful sorceress in existence. We caught her as she tried to defend the Lycan royal family, she's been on ice since."
Casseus simply nodded, noting the control device fixed to the womans head. "I've been thinking about this option since the operation against the kitsune," the Boss stated. "What do you say? You think these two can help?"
A sinister smile spread across Casseus lips, as he nodded. These two would prove to be quite useful in the battles to come.
