As Ollie approached the window, the feelings in his stomach became worse and worse. What the heck was wrong with him? He stopped, and a taloned hand rested on his bare, feathered belly. "Cm'on Ollie, get a grip."
He extended his foot to go outside, and stopped as the sound of Katies voice echoed in his head. His promise played back after, his young voice echoing through his mind. His normal adult voice answered. "But I just said that to get her away."
To his surprise though the younger one seemed to answer, in an equally childlike way, "But I promised her and I shouldn't break a promise!"
Ollie shook his head. He tried again, but again something in him just felt so wrong about leaving without saying goodbye. "Agh!" He groaned, flopping down next to the window. He rested his head in his hands. Something was happening, or had happened just now. He couldn't fight it. Sighing he stared down at his feet poking from his sneakers and the gold ring that rested on the black scales of his finger.
