When Molly saw her son descend the staircase, she was not disappointed. Her spell seemed to be working just fine.
Mile's hair had turned jet black and styled like the emo kids at his school, not the normal shaggy hair which he was used to. His clothing hadn't changed at all, but Molly noticed that he did seem a bit thinner than usual, not to mention that his nails were now covered in black polish. Miles himself didn't seem to notice any of this as he sat down to the bowl of Count Chocula which Molly had poured for him.
She sat down with her son and asked him what he thought about the occult.
Miles looked up incredulously at his mother. His mom could be real insipid sometimes, but this really took the cake.
"You mean like Harry Potter and shit? Come on mom, even you're not lame enough to believe in that bullshit, right?" Miles asked, before chomping into another bite of his chocolate cereal.
Molly looked at the black nail polish on her son's hands and simply smirked. "Well, you never know, Miles. There's a lot of weird stories out there. Maybe there is a bit of truth to the realm of the dark arts out there somewhere. Come on, you don't believe in a little magic?" Molly teased.
Miles simply rolled his eyes. "Great, not only do I have a mother who won't let me have any fun, she believes in hocus pocus too. A piece of advice, don't listen to any Nigerian prince emails in your inbox. Look. I gotta go." Miles said, picking up his stuff.
Molly smirked. If only he knew what lied ahead.
