“What would you say if I kept you home today?” asked Molly, breaking the ice.
“I'd say "Hands up, pod person! What have you done with my mother?""
Molly laughed and shook her head.
“You don't care about me *that* much. If an alien replaced me, you'd probably be a lot happier than you are now.”
“Maybe” said Miles, absentmindedly twirling his index finger around a lock of his long red hair while eating cereal with the other hand. “But I'd still want to know what they've done with you.”
“Miles, how would you like for me to call you in sick today? We can have a nice mother-son day all to ourselves. You can even just watch TV in your boxers all day if you want.”
Miles looked up from his cereal bowl.
“Really? Don't you care about my education?”
“Education I think has passed you by, my son” said Molly, only half-joking. “But I'd really like to spend more time with you today. You know that I spent fifteen hours in labor giving birth to you? I think that I deserve a little bit of credit. You owe me, buster. So how about it?”
Miles put down his spoon after slurping down the last bit of chocolate infused milk.
“OK. Maybe this will fix our broken relationship.”
“Miles, you have no idea”.
Molly called Miles's school and gave them a made up story about him coming down with a cold.
Option 1: While watching TV together, Miles ages a couple of years and his body becomes more androgynous.
Option 2: Miles undergoes a mental change. Molly offers to bake some chocolate chip cookies for Miles and asks if he would like to help her. As he assists Molly, Miles begins to really enjoy baking.
