For just a moment, Brooke’s whole world stopped as she felt the warm tingles of transformation ripple through her body. A bizarre sensation that felt much like somebody had turned up the bass on a particularly obnoxious sub. There was no noise though, just the clops of the deer on her hardword floor as she staggered backwards and tried to fight back against the weird swimming dizziness that filled her head.
When she managed to get her bearings back again, she was still tingling. And she looked up at Marcus and Sam in sudden realization and shock. She seemed to be sinking towards the floor. Or... no, wait... she looked down at herself and gasped in absolute terror. Everything was growing in size around her. She turned suddenly and whimpered at a bar stool that now rose above her head and then some. She lurched as the tingling stopped as suddenly as it had overtaken her and stood on the floor in jaw dropping disbelief.
“Whoaaaa.” Sam giggled, half in awe and half in shock. She clutched the device to her chest and stared down at equal disbelief at her now tiny boss. She exchanged a nervous glance with Marcus, who chuckled. He had clearly seen something crazy like this before.
Brooke had shrunk! All of her, clothes, jewelry, rings, wallet, and keys. All of her had reduced in perfect proportion to a couple of inches over one foot tall, having lost 75% of her size just like Sam had instructed the device.
The tiny deer stared up at her giant friends in shock. She looked over at the giant bar stool behind her and stepped back in sudden realization as she saw the now titanic horse groggily sitting at the bar.
Trish stared over the top in horror, her beak hanging open, wing-arms over her mouth, as she looked down at the shrunken deer.
The doe turned back to Marcus and Sam as the lizard carefully and gently kneeled down onto her scaly haunches and stared at the greatly reduced Brooke. The deer took a few nervous steps forward.
“Whoa.” Sam breathed, barely able to speak.
“C-Change me back!” Brooke gulped, her voice now comedically high pitched, her terror evident. “Sam, change me back! Please!”
“You are SO CUTE!” The lizard giggled, reaching forward and snapping the deer up in her glassy fingers.
“SAM!” Brooke screamed, kicking violently as the lizard rose to her full height carrying the deer in front of her chest. “PUT ME DOWN! PUT ME DOWN RIGHT NOW!”
This elicited a hearty laugh from Marcus as they walked toward the bar with Brooke cursing shrunken obscenities at the duo.
Sam set her down on top of the bar and took a seat, staring in wonderment.
“Oh!” Trish trilled. She approached the oddity and stared at the deer’s back in shock. “W-W-W-What did you do to Brooke?”
“Shrank her.” Sam grinned ear hole to ear hole. “Isn’t she so much better this way?”
The doe stared back menacingly and bit her lip. “You CAN change me back, right?”
“Sure.” Marcus giggled. “But where would be the fun in that?”
The big horse seemed to sober up quickly. He stared at the doe, his glass, and rubbed his eyes quickly before staring over in shock. “W-What the... the hell?”
Hearing the noise and commotion, Max the cook leaned out of the kitchen and his eyes widened. He too approached the bar and stared in shock at the little little doe sitting with her legs dangling in front of the stools.
“Oh, my God.” Brooke put her head in her hands and sighed heavily. “What a freak show.”
