Molly was excited, but Miles was stubborn. Even after answering her question, he wasn’t interested in maintaining eye contact or having conversation. If only he knew how close he and Molly would become as sisters.. “Oh yeah, I’m going to Victor’s today.” He mentioned as he emptied his bowl.
Victor. Miles’ best friend. Molly didn’t exactly like her son, but she really didn’t like Victor. He was a loud, hyperactive brat, in her eyes. Of course, some of it was just teens boys being teen boys, but Molly didn’t like it at all. But thankfully, Victor wouldn’t be a problem for her much longer.
..No he wouldn’t. A sly smile crossed Molly’s face as she came up with an idea. Molly was clever, and a powerful magician too. She realized that she could clear two birds with one stone, by adjusting her spell on Miles to make it into a bubble. Under the table, she started maneuvering her hands, getting prepared to enhance her spell.
Yes, this was perfect. She would make it so that Victor would follow Miles’ transformation, growing into a proper husband for her soon-to-be dear sister. Of course, she didn’t want the current Victor to just grow up and still be an older version of a little shit. No, her spell would have to involve some changes to make him into a perfect husband.
The personality parts were easy. The spell would make him loving and sweet, but masculine and strong. A perfect counterpart to the feminine energy being imparted into Miles. Reality was.. a bit tougher. Changing Miles’ gender was an additional constraint that would result in his spell taking longer, so Molly knew she would have to do something to Victor to result in their transformations being completed at the same pace.
Reality usually took care of itself, and Molly wanted to make sure that would be the case. Maybe the spell would give the new adult Victor, or whatever his new name would be, a brother that Molly would marry. Brothers marrying sisters.. it was so romantic, Molly thought. That still wasn’t enough though, she mused, since it didn’t affect Victor much himself. Then the lightbulb hit her. The best way to match the paces was to change Victor’s ethnicity.
Molly didn’t want to burn out her spell on being too specific, but she knew Victor couldn’t stay white. That was fine by her, as she conjured up her alteration to Miles’ spell. She would allow the spell to take its own course and change Victor as it saw fit. He would grow into a perfect husband for Miles one way or another.
Molly smiled as she thrust out her hands under the table, hitting Miles with a bolt of energy. Miles shook his head vigorously as a chill went up his spine. “Whew!” He exclaimed. “Cold.. All of a sudden.”
“Hmm? I don’t feel anything.” Molly said, to no response. After a brief wait, she followed up. “Have fun at Victor’s after school, honey.”
Miles blinked. Usually his mom would argue with him about why he couldn’t go, or at the minimum make some comment about why Victor was a horrible influence and he shouldn’t eb spending time around him. What sane person had replaced his mom? He didn’t want to stick around and find out, muttering out a quick “Thanks,” before she changed her mind.
As Miles grabbed his backpack and threw on his shoes before leaving the house, Molly just sat there and watched, a wicked mischievous grin crossing her face.
