Selina couldn’t bring herself to lose upwards of five years. She’d just have to roll the dice. Sticking to the shadows, she made her way over to the tables, where she grabbed the first bag she could. She sprinted to a secluded, hidden corner and inspected the bag’s contents.
To her relief, the bag held clothes. Even better, they looked to be her size. They were obviously for a boy, but she could work with that. Quickly, she got dressed in the jeans, dinosaur long-sleeved T-shirt, and socks and boots. To make sure she looked like a boy, she tucked her hair into the knit hat that was also in the bag.
Selina pocketed the stray money that had been in the bag, probably thrown in there by someone too impatient to put it away in a wallet. Satisfied, she walked away from the bag and back to the main area of the food court. With her disguise in place and some spare change, it felt like things were beginning to look up.
