Tom was now on her own. Driving in heels didn’t prove to be an issue. Kerry’s car was an automatic so there wasn’t a lot of footwork necessary. In fact other than awareness of a pair of breasts in the periphery of her vision and the fact that that hands holding the steering wheel were delicate and with lacquered nails, driving was no different than usual.
Tom pulled into Kerry’s parking spot and hit the button on the key ring to automatically close the garage door. It was quite convenient. Perhaps she should investigate getting one fitted at home? She turned off the ignition but hesitated before getting out of the car and encountering her brother come husband. She feared Michael would readily see through her charade.
However she wasn’t going to get to the football if she remained in the car. She had sacrificed enough already to get to this game. If Michael discovered who she really was she would try and just laugh it off and say ‘Just seeing how long I could fool you for’
She left the car almost forgetting she now had a handbag. Tom didn’t understand why she needed such a large bag but Kerry had insisted that she always have it with her. Tom wasn’t planning to use anything inside it tonight. Indeed she had not really paid much attention when Kerry had shown her the contents. She wasn't intending to touch Kerry's purse. Michael could pay for drinks if they had to. She didn’t even know if drinks were provided.
With the handbag over her shoulder, as Kerry had shown her how to wear it, she went from the garage into the house proper. Michael called out from the other room. “Did you get what you wanted? I was just starting to get concerned that you wouldn’t be back in time. I don’t want to be late”
“I just need to go to the toilet then I’ll be ready” Tom replied in Kerry’s voice. Tom didn’t actually feel the need to visit the toilet but Kerry had advised that she should. And well Kerry knew best about being ‘Kerry’. Besides if she was in the bathroom she could delay confronting Michael
