As he finally held the entity object and it began to resize for holding, a hand contortion was successfully pulled off so he held enough of the globe to cover the region in which the containment device was held, and...

To the sound of a gunshot rigged on betrayal, the suddenly gripped globe and its bearer escaped. In another frantic breath still gripping the globe and treading water in the Pacific, "TheworldwouldbebetterifIdidn'thaveanykillswitchesinme" and another pop happened as something was prevented from going off just in time.
Tides turned. "The world would be better if I wasn't injured." "The world would be better if I was safe on land with this globe."
Another reshuffle, and a soaked wielder of The World In The Palm Of Our Hands was on a mountainside beach somewhere. The sunlight was gentle, the wind quiet, and the waters noisy but not particularly wave-crashing. That probably bought him some time before the G.E.T. came after him.
Then a more total grip, trying to cover as much as possible... "The world would be better if that organization wasn't after me or this globe."
And a bit more. Should be safe to rest while whatever countermeasures for recovery got into place caught up.
And then finally, a moment to breathe for more than quick talking. The worst was over, now....next moves. Mike slumped down on the beach, staring first out at the open waters, and then down at the handheld globe. The sudden change from death row to the world in his hand...that was a lot.
He could probably do something nice for himself and try to remain beneath attention, or use this world-changing power to the fullest to deal with the G.E.T. shadow government first more seriously.
Something about being used so much in rapid succession seemed to awaken something in the globe, and something more floated into Mike's mind. At first, it was just safety and trying to retain great power.
...Well, no use not adding a failsafe, he thought. It was probably what the globe wanted. One more whole-world grip, and...
"The world would be better if I could tell where I am on this globe. The world would be better if I could always call this globe to hand if I want or need it."
Mike suddenly felt distinctly aware of his geographical position on the English coastline. Finally releasing from grip, rather than falling to the ground it floated in midair before flying back up into Mike's hands at will. Well, that was easy.
"So, just you and me now." Mike said, glancing down at his miraculous savior he was beginning to think was controlling him as much as the other way around. "I hope this works."
Something more seemed to awaken in Mike, dimly aware it was definitely the will of the globe to be used and used frequently. His own lusts began to rise as stress from extended imprisonment melted away into running wild with obsessions. Control, ideas for how to use power, twisted dreams...anything could happen.
