Dani and her friends played basketball and chitchatted for most of the evening, skipping the party.
Craig and Randy did most of the chatting, anyway.
Usually, Dan would have more to say to his friends, but given that his entire life had drastically changed in the span of just a few hours, he was having trouble concentrating on playful joking around.
Instead, all Dan could focus on was his weird new body, the fact that Randy apparently had a crush on him now, and the fact, which a part of him *still* had trouble accepting, that the paranormal was actually for real, that his mother and sister were part of some weird secret society of witches, and that his mother apparently wanted him to join said secret society when he turned eighteen in two years. This was insane!
And Kat's warning. What was *that* about? Was she saying that Dan would never get to change back into his male body?
Gradually, it started to get darker and darker outside, and guests began leaving the party. Dan watched them out of the corner of his eye, but nobody seemed to mind that he had ditched his own birthday bash.
It was only when Randy and Craig had to get back to their own homes that Dan couldn't ignore his messed up family anymore, and sullenly walked back inside.
