“How do you know?” Matilda asked,
“I don’t know, but I just know,” Presley said,
“Well that’s not confusing,” Diane said, awaiting the question,
“So what do I do?” Presley asked,
“You have to ask her the question,” Allie said,
“Oh, right,” Presley said, “um…” she struggled. She looked to Allie, “what’s the question again?”
“Oh my god…” Allie said, placing her hand on her head in disgrace, “I can’t say it,” she clarified,
“It’s Tra, For, Dar,” Matilda defined, “but obviously the full phrase,”
“Transform or Dare?” Presley asked,
“Perfect!” Allie said, excitedly.
“I think I’ll go for a transform,” Diane said, “I always wondered what it really meant to be ‘transformed’,” she stated,
Presley looked to Allie, then Matilda, then back to Allie, “what do I do?” She asked,
“Pick something!” Allie said, impatiently,
“Like what!?” Presley asked, panicking,
“ANYTHING!” Allie shouted back, garnering the attention of other students,
“I don’t know! I’m booksmart, I’m not creative!” Presley stated,
“Then change her hair or something,” Allie said, getting grumpy with her friend,
“Okay… urm, Diane,” she started, “your transformation is to have really really long hair,”
“Really really long hair?” Diane said, surprised, “the longest I’ve ever had it is shoulder length,” she stated.
Diane looked at her hair, feeling it start to lengthen. She ran her fingers through it, feeling as it as each strand got longer and longer. It was a strangely satisfying feeling, not in any way painful or uncomfortable. It felt like running a comb through perfectly straight hair. It was therapeutic.
Before long, her hair was about to reach the floor, but it stopped just before it could. If she wasn’t sitting in a chair, it would probably reach a little under her butt.
She ran her fingers through her long blonde hair.
“This is a cool game,” Diane said, crossing her arms confidently, “we should’ve played this a looong time ago,”
“Would’ve loved to hear that five months ago,” Allie said, half joking, half very serious.
“So who goes next?” Matilda asked,
“The second oldest, I guess,” Diane says,
“Oh god…” Presley says,
“Lucky that Allie isn’t in charge of your transform or dare,” Matilda said, “so what’s it gonna be?” She asked.
