“Our school keeps growing.” announced a Centaur man as he stood at a large table surrounded by the multiple deans of the school. “We are projecting another 5% growth over 5 years.”
Five percent wasn’t a large growth for any business but considering one of the main worries for the school and those who ran it was being discovered 5% growth was a huge increase.
“Any sign of the humans figuring out what we are doing?” inquired a small male fairy as he sat on a tiny chair on top of the desk, he had his own desk as well as a small pile of paper his own size.
“None.” Purred a Neko as she pushed up her glasses over her slited cat like eyes. “The humans are more interested in not having to deal with their trouble making offspring and once they are of age their government could care less.”
“We have had a few parents of those sent here raise a little bit of fuss however given almost all of them are either fresh out of jail for crimes or clean after years of drug use no one pays them any mind.” Added the lawyer for the school, he seamed human at the moment having just driven in from the nearby human city. Two cuff links glowed a bit telling everyone here of the magical charm keeping him looking human. “Those whom we have had any real trouble have been dealt with by having their now adult and fully incorporated kids tell them off before the local human police. We have no issues on that front.”
“Good.” Said the Head Mistress a female moon elf with glowing silver hair. “Then I think we are ready to move on to our main issue…we need more teachers if we are to grow and why not kill two birds with one stone and hire a human or two to join us.”
“Is that legal?” inquired the Centaur
“Legal enough.” Answered the lawyer “As a private school we can get away with more and since one of the job requirements is to live on campus full time we can ask how large of a family they have to make sure we have space for them to live. Throw in the very high pay, free housing and the like most job hunters will not care if we ask some personal questions as long as we have a logical answer for them.”
“Good.” Said the Head Mistress
“And once here we transform them and we gain new staff members and possible a whole new family worth of members to our race.” Purred the Neko as their where nods around the table.
“Only issue is that if we transform whole families it runs the risk of having complications.” Stated the Fairy “We target those who have no families and who the state wouldn’t care about. That will be harder to find among full grown adults with families.”
“Harder but not impossible.” countered the Neko her cat like ears pulling back a bit in anger.
“Still maybe we should focus on finding single adults who may not have families.” Offered the Centaur
“But the gains from gaining whole families may be worth the risk or goal is to grow our numbers.” Countered the lawyer “Still we need to do this with care.”
“Agreed” confirmed the Head Mistress before pulling a file of a small stack. “Now let’s go over some of the resumes and decide who we should offer jobs too and go from there.”
